Part 6 Conclusion
Background
• Any individual of all ages, races, religions, among others, are vulnerable to the possibility of
suffering from domestic violence. A variety of behaviors and even subtle ones are included within
the scale of domestic violence. (“SAGE Journals: Your gateway to world-class research journals,”
2020)

• In the Philippines, violence among women and children is widely growing especially in the
present periods of lockdown. (n.a., 2020)

• Domestic abuse is more common in low-income populations like the Philippines due to the fact
that victims lack financial resources and mobility to leave an abusive situation. Therefore, it is a
must to take this issue seriously and significantly seek solutions to this never-ending cycle of
abuse particularly in this crucial time of the pandemic (Edwards, n.d.)
Rationale
• To extend awareness about the realities of domestic violence in the country in
order to help eliminate this type of problem

• To also highlight the importance of being a support system for the victims of
domestic abuse.

• To encourage individuals in sharing a light of new hope for those who have been
silenced as the advocacies and campaigns in the MAC Proposal wish to let them
know that they are not, and never will be alone

• Aims to influence action into bringing change into this world.

• Overall, it aims to educate one another to spread awareness and come up with
solutions by amplifying the voice of each one of us to bring justice to domestic
abuse.
• The multimodal text that our group will utilize is an infographic.

• To create infographics, our group will be using different graphic designing tools
Multimodality such as Canva, Piktochart, Venngage, and more.

• To present our content, we will make use of our creativity in partnership with
the vast tools that the online infographic maker offers us such as:
⚬ Font styles and sizes
⚬ Pictures
⚬ Stickers
⚬ Shapes and colors

• The visual mode of Hymes' 5 major modes in the semiotic systems will be used.

Advocacy
• Offering our time to raise awareness, give emotional support, and light new hope to your
friend, family member, co-worker, or neighbor who is experiencing domestic or sexual
violence

• It is relevant especially in this time of pandemic where people have nowhere to go but to
their own respective houses, where this matter usually happens. Victims might be stuck
and unaware that they are suffering from this so it is relevant that they become aware of
their rights and encourage them to speak and be heard.

• This affects people of any race, age, sexual orientation, economic class, immigration
status, religion, or gender. This advocacy focuses to aid people who are of the same age
bracket.

• The advocates will make this advocacy real by doing hands-on activities and spreading
proper multimodal and other tools available. They will try to create change for those who
seek to be saved.

• The possible positive outcome of this domestic violence advocacy may save lives and give
light to the silenced victims around you.

Conclusion
To wrap up the whole presentation, this MAC proposal is created
to amplify the voice of each Filipino to speak up about domestic
violence to raise awareness and support victims of this
devastating issue. With that, creating social media pages,
supporting an organization as well as utilizing multimodal texts,
specifically infographics, aids the campaigning of this advocacy
to fight domestic violence and become a medium that is easily
reachable by everyone. Together with unity, all voices of
Filipinos will become the guiding instruments in making the
biggest impact in the society to take the first stepping stone
towards change.
