SCOPE OF WORK 3. ROAD MARKING 8. PAVEMENT MATERIALS
The Scope of work for the construction works includes: Unless otherwise stated and shown in the contract drawings, the contractor is requested to survey the existing horizontal road The Tender lets the Contrator the opportunity to bid for recycled/stabilized pavement solution and solution with conventional road
- Topographic survey of the existing road marking and apply it with the same criteria and layout on the new paved surface. construction materials.
- Road marking Road marking has to be of thermoplastic material. Thermoplastic road markings shall consist of binder, resin, intermix beads, pigment, Unless otherwise specified in the contract documents, material and road construction specifications to follow OHDS 2017.
plasticizing oil and such other constituents as necessary to reach the performance level required. Subject to the restrictions stated in this For reference, below the main construction materials for conventional method are reported:
- Demolition of existing pipe culverts and construction of new box culverts
Specification, the manufacturer is free to achieve the required performance level in any way suited to his manufacturing techniques. The
- Extension of existing box culverts Contractor shall submit a certificate from the manufacturer stating that the thermoplastic road marking contains no hydrocarbon resins.
- New road pavement The flashpoint for thermoplastic materials must be greater than or equal to 240C and drying (tack free) time should be between 2 and 10
- Rehabilitation of junctions min dependent on ambient road surface temperature and wind. SUBGRADE GRANULAR SUBBASE - CLASS B
- All related works to allow safe opening of the road and reinstatement of current conditions of elements in RoW Road Markings should be Type III as per OHDS 2017 with the following specifications:
1. TOPOGRAPHIC SURVEY
The Contractor shall carry out detailed survey of the exiting road and features in a Right of Way of 30m using the most up to date surveying
techniques, procedures and equipment.
The purpose of the survey is for the contractor to be able to record the current horizontal and vertical alignment of the road, physical
features such as culverts, floodways, signboards and road marking. AGGREGATE BASE COURSE
More extensive surveys shall be undertaken in urban areas, at junctions, floodways, culvert and pipeline crossing sites.
In order to prevent cracking of thermoplastic when the plasticizing oil content is reduced to prevent blackening of the road marking, good
quality resins (such as alkyd resins, rosin esters and maleic-modified resins) shall be used in the manufacture of thermoplastic material

According to the details of drawings DD L1 05 [Lot 1], DD L3 05 [Lot 3], the contractor is requested to remove selected pipe culverts and
replace them with new box culverts.
1.2 Paved Road Surfaces The Contractor has to survey the inlet and outlet levels of the existing pipe culverts and follow the same for the new construction. The RECYCLING AND STABILIZATION MATERIAL
Sufficient strings are to be captured across road surfaces to ensure the shape is accurately defined to specified accuracies and tolerances. longitudinal gradient of the cells of the new box culvert has to be of a minimum of 0.5%, keeping the outlet at the surveyed level. 6. JUNCTIONS
Five different type of works are identified on the junctions:

Drawings DD L1 05 [Lot1] and DD L3 05 [Lot 3] illustrate the works to carry out on floodways. Three different kinds of works are identified: existing vertical alignment and upgrade geometry as per drawing DD GE 14. Asphalt on minor road to be extended to 40m from edge
of pavement of main road. Any obstruction not compatible with change of geometry, to be shifted, following approval of Engineer.
- Retaining of existing cross section and rehabilitation of the pavement. The scope of work includes the refurbishment of the
pavement as per details on DD L1 05 [Lot1] and DD L3 05 [Lot 3]. The width of cross section and existing riprap is to be maintained. Contractor to reuse existing signboards if compatible with design and istructed by Engineer.
- Keep geometry of existing junction and match with new wider cross section of main road. Contractor is requested to survey LESS SUITABLE GRADATION
The contractor to provide transition sections as per geometry defined in drawing DD GE 02. Vertical and horizontal alignment to be

rehabilitation of the pavement as per details within the same geometry and road marking as surveyed.
- Widening of cross section, rehabilitation of pavement and riprap protection. Existing riprap protection to be removed, road
pavement to rehabilitated and be widened as per drawing DD GE 02, new protection to be done. Vertical and horizontal alignment to - Change of layout. The scope of work is described in location specific drawings.

- Extention of length of floodway. The contractor is requested to extend the length of the riprap protection as illustrated in drawings. by the Engineer.
Unless specifically mentioned, the existing width of pavement and cross section to be kept. Vertical and horizontal alignment to be - No intervention. Not in the scope of work. Existing paved/unpaved junction to be left as it currently is.
maintained unless specified by the Engineer.
Reference of existing material properties and geotechnical characteristics can be made to drawings DD L1 03 [Lot 1], DD L2 03 [Lot 2],
Part of the scope of work of the contractor is the clearance from boulders, trees and any obstruction objects of the bed of the wadi for a range
of 100m upstream and downstream of any drainage structure in the scope of work, being it a new culvert, an extension of culvert or floodway.
7. ROAD GEOMETRY DD L3 03 [Lot 3]. The contractor is required to carry out their own investigation and tests to assure the ideal mix for stabilization.
With appropriate machinery, the bed needs to be shaped in a way that the flow of the wadi is directed towards the inlet of the culvert. Road geometric features (such as horizontal and vertical alignment, crossfall and superelevation) to be recorded through topographic
survey.
Drawing DD L1 09 [Lot 1] describes the scope works to shape downstream wadi bed at ch. 48+000. Contractor shall raise the profile locally to avoid that widening of the pavement surface would incur in cut sections, even partially.
