Operation Rat Catcher

After the campaign, Kel realizes his work in the field ward with the church of Lanthander
was not enough. There are not enough clerics and these people will not isolate to any critical
degree. After trying to convince the people of the ward to take precautionary measures and
failing, Kel switched focus to the other side of the problem: not enough clerics. With the help
and influence of Raenar and the media power of Madelyn Port, Kel would begin a PR campaign
to “Cure the Field Ward, Save the City”. Approaching all of the religious orders in the city first,
Kel would begin recruiting clerics and paladins willing and able to venture into the field ward in a
gigantic swoop to completely eradicate the pox.
Then with the help of Raenar and Madelyn Port, the group would begin approaching the
noble families in the city to request donations to fund the equipment and supplies for the clerics
and healers. Framing it as both philanthropy and a public relations opportunity.Offer them
sponsorship spots, articles in the Post, etc. Kel would also use the proceeds from the shit-to-
farm industry to offset any costs.
Lately, the crew of Operation Rat Catcher would approach notable groups and
organizations within the city to secure funding and healers. This includes the zhentarim(Morten),
force grey and the grey hands(Lindsay and the Blackstaff), the order of the gauntlet(No contact),
the emerald enclave(Jeryth and Melennor), the harpers(gayle), Bregan D’aerthe(fel’rekt) and the
lords alliance(Lord Silverhand).

On the side, Kel begins training a select group of field ward denizens to be paladins so they can
help cure their own ward aka the Junior Gourdian Angels.

Religious Orders approached:

● The Triad: a group of three good aligned gods listed below
○ Tyr - god of justice and the greater good
■ His followers Would most likely be willing to help, especially if Illmater’s
followers were convinced first.
■ “A great evil has been done to the people of the field wad. Warring gangs
created this disease to wreak havoc on the city and had plans to spread it
across all of the wards. We were able to stop them but the field ward was
used as a testing grounds first. Now is the time to eradicate this pox
before it can build and mutate within the field ward and spread to the city
proper.”
○ Illmater - god of suffering and the oppressed
■ The god whose followers would be most interested in helping save the
field ward.
■ “These people have been oppressed and suffered under the policies of
the city. They have endured this suffering righteously and now it is our
time to relieve them of their burden. It was by no fault of their own that the
pox has ravaged the field ward but they have fought back and endured
bravely. “
○ Torm - god of Duty and Righteousness
■ Probably the member of the triad least inherently interested in sending
clerics to the field ward. Would get both the other orders on board first,
illmater and then Tyr.
■ “We have a duty to these people in the field ward. They live in the shadow
of the city, an important area for trade, refugees, and it acts as a barrier to
the world. They are suffering due to no crime of their own and only if the
city comes together can we wipe out this pox. The followers of torm allon
with every other faith in this city have a moral responsibility to help
because if we can not act collectively, this pox will grow like an infection
in the field ward until it spills over into the city proper.”
● Moradin - god of the dwarves
○ “We have to cure the pox now before any dwarven beards are replaced by rat
whiskers!”
● Bahamut - god of dragons
○ Not sure if he has worshipers within the city but search them out.
○ “Justice means we care for those who have been wrongfully harmed, and those
in the field ward did nothing to deserve the infection that has been released in
their midst. I ask that you all raise your hands with me and help destroy this rot
before it infects the whole city.”
● Corellon - God of the elves
○ Reach out and partner with the Wood Elves in the field ward if they have any
clerics among them. If they have the pox its an easy ask for they cure
themselves. If they do not then argue that it is only a matter of time before the
ward is overtaken by wererats and they too fall victim to the pox.
○ See if there is a church in the city proper, if so then bring a representative from
the wood elves of the field ward to help
○ “Regardless of race, color, or creed, the rat pox infects and corrupts. What
affects the field ward will trickle down to all the people of this city.”
Clerical Assault

Once enough Clerics/Paladins/Healers have been recruited, starting on the east side of the
ward, they will descend upon the ward curing everyone in a section before moving on to the
next, with the bucketeers and anyone willing to aid holding the line making sure once a section
is cleared, it is not reinfected. Throughout the process, recruiting thankful field ward denizens to
help hold the line and to act as town cryers announcing the movement of the Operation. Telling
people to go get their neighbors, their friends and let them know. Using Morthemeow and the
cats to do reconnaissance and find wererats that may be hiding.
