What is root?
What is square?
Do you know how we can find square?
Square root of Perfect Square

Square root of Perfect Square

A 4-sided flat shape with straight sides where:
The diagonals of a square bisect each other and meet at 90°
The diagonals of a square bisect its angles.
Opposite sides of a square are both parallel and equal in length.
All four angles of a square are equal. (Each is 360°/4 = 90°, so every angle of a square is a right
angle.)
All four sides of a square are equal.
The diagonals of a square are equal.

What is Square Root?

In mathematics, a square root of a number a is a number y such that y2 = a; in other words, a
number y whose square (the result of multiplying the number by itself, or y⋅y) is a.

For example,
4 and −4 are square roots of 16 because 42 = (−4)2 = 16.

Square roots of perfect squares

Let's start by taking a look at an example evaluating the square root of 25.
25=?
Step 1: Ask, "What number squared equals  {25}
Step 2: Notice that, 5, squared equals to 25
52=5×5=25 -------------------------- The answer is: 25= 5
Here's a question to make sure you understood:
How can we be sure that 5, is the right answering?
5 is a right answer because it is a half of 10. And it is an odd number.

Formative Evaluation

Question will be asked from students in different points of view during lesson according to the
situation and understanding of the students.

Summative Evaluation

At the end of lesson different questions will be asked as summative evaluation regarding the
lesson topic for the better understanding level of students. Following questions will be asked:
What is square?
What is square root?
How we can find square root?
Is all four sides are equal of square?

Home Work

Solve following five questions of square root.

Find square root of: 80, 100, 120, 40, and 20
