Nezuko pattern

DIFFICULTY LEVEL
Intermediate. This pattern is crocheted in joined rounds and spiral rounds.

SIZE
Doll size is 17 cm / 6.7” inches tall when made with the indicated yarn.
However, the exact gauge isn’t important.

Materials & Tools


 Yarn in 7 colors (black, beige, red, pink, green, khaki and white) for Nezuko. The yarns used in the pictures
are Aislon Rag Doll Yarn (40g) from Taiwan 100% of Acrylic (130m).
 Fiberfill, craft wire (cut 1 of 14 cm & 2 of 25 cm long), 8mm safety eyes, 2.0 mm crochet hook, embroidery
thread (black & khaki color), 9 mm button, yarn needle and scissors.

Abbreviations
MR = magic ring
Sc = single crochet
CH = chain stitch
SS = slip stitch
Inc = increase
Dec = decrease
R1 = rounds (one)
Sts/St = stitch
Hdc = half double crochet
Dc = double crochet
X = repeat works [ ]
BLO/FLO = Back/front loop only

How to crochet invisible decrease (Invdec)

How to crochet invisible decrease BLO (Invdec)

When you need to decrease, insert your hook into the inter loops only.
The skill will help you to make the decrease invisible & pretty.

Arms (beige color) make 2


Crochet in joined rounds.
R1: 6 sc in a MR. (6 sts)
R2-R15 (14 rows): Sc in each stitch around. (6 sts)
Fasten off. Do not stuff the fiberfill. Later crochet together with the body.

Legs (make 2) continue to head (khaki, beige and black color)


Start with khaki color. Crochet in joined rounds.
The wire bends in rectangular shape then insert to the foot on Row 5.
R1: CH 6, work in 2nd chain from hook; 1 sc Inc, 3 sc, W, 4 sc. (Refer to pg.3 P02) (12 sts)
R2: Sc Inc, 2 sc, 2 hdc, hdc Inc, sc Inc, hdc Inc, 2 hdc, 2 sc. (16 sts)
R3 (BLO): Change to beige color; sc in each stitch around. (16 sts)
R4: Sc in each stitch around.
R5: 6 sc, 3 sc Invdec, 4 sc. (13 sts)
R6 (FLO): Change to black color 5 sc, 3 sc Invdec, 2 sc.
Insert the wire of 25 cm. (Refer to pg.3 P03) (10 sts)
R7: 4 sc, 2 sc Invdec, 2 sc. (8 sts)
R8 (FLO): Sc in each stitch around. (8 sts)
R9-R10: Sc in each stitch around. (8 sts)
R11 (FLO): Sc in each stitch around. (8 sts)
R12-R13: Sc in each stitch around. (8 sts)
R14-R18 (5 rows): Change to beige color; sc in each stitch around. (8 sts)

Remember separate to stuff the fiberfill of the 3 layer part.
R19: 2 sc Inc, 6 sc. (10 sts)
R20: Sc in each stitch around. (10 sts)
To make the clogs shoe turn the leg upside down and ss to the FLO of R3. (Refer P06)
Sew the clogs strap and hide yarn in beautifully. (Refer P07-P09)

The 1st leg cut off the yarn, the 2nd to be continues crochet joined leg below.
R21: 5 sc, CH 3, joined the 1st leg; 10 sc, 3 sc on the 3 chain,
5 sc rest of the 2nd leg. (Refer pg.4 P10) (26 sts)
R22: Sc in each stitch around. (26 sts)
R23: 1 sc dec, 10 sc, 1 sc dec, 12 sc. (24 sts)
R24: 12 sc, 1 sc dec, 8 sc, 1 sc dec. (22 sts)
R25: Sc in each stitch around. Fasten off and cut the yarn. (Refer pg.4 P11) (22 sts)

R26: Start crochet counting on 6 stitch and change to white color 22 sc in each stitch around. (22 sts)
*** Be sure to start crochet on backsides of body. (Refer pg.4 P12)
Stuff the fiberfill and twisted the body wiring in every few rows.
R27 (BLO): Change to beige color 5 sc, 1 sc dec, 9 sc, 1 sc dec, 4 sc. (20 sts)
R28-R33 (6 rows): Sc in each stitch around. (20 sts)
R34: [1 sc Invdec, 8 sc] x2. (18 sts)

Start to crochet joined arms below.
R35: Continues 6 sc on body, joined the left arm 6 sc, 9 sc on body and joined the right arm 6 sc, 3 sc on
body.(Refer FIg.01) (30 sts)
***Insert the 14 cm of arms wire in-between of the body wire. (Refer down P17)
R36: [3 sc, 1 sc Invdec] x6. (24 sts)

Fasten off. Do not stuff too much of fiberfill to the head, if not became a round shape.
Cut the long tail to sew off the hole and hide the yarn in beautifully.

Pants (white color)


Start with the backsides of body R27 *FLO shown pictures below.(Refer P19)
Crochet in spiral rounds.
R1 (*FLO): [3 sc, 1 sc Inc] x5, 1 sc, 1 sc Inc. (28 sts)
R2-R5 (4 rows): Sc in each stitch around. (28 sts)
Crochet the lower pants.
R6: Divided in half of 14 stitches and sc in each stitch around. (14 sts)
R7-R9 (3 rows): Sc in each stitch around. (14 sts)
Fasten off. Cut and hide the yarn in beautifully.

Kimono Clothing (pink and white color)
Start with pink color and crochet in a flat panel.
R1: CH 26, crochet in the 2nd chain from hook; 25 sc and turn work. (25 sts)
R2 (BLO): ss, 2 sc, 2 hdc, 15 dc, 2 hdc, 2 sc, ss and CH 1 & turn work. (25 sts)
R3: 2 sc, 2 hdc, hdc Inc, CH 6, skip 4, dc Inc, 5 dc, dc Inc, CH 6, skip 4, hdc Inc, 2 hdc, 2 sc.
CH 2 and turn work. (29 sts + CH12= 41 sts)
R4: 5 dc, 6 dc in the chain, 9 dc, 6 dc in the chain, 6 dc. (32 sts)
R5-R7 (3 rows): 32 dc, CH 2 and turn. (Included crocheting the CH6)(Refer P25) (32 sts)
R8: 8 dc, (3 dc, dc Inc) x4, 8 dc. CH 2 and turn work. (36 sts)
R9-R11 (3 rows): 36 dc, CH 2 and turn work. (36 sts)
R12: 2 dc dec, 28 dc, 2 dc dec, CH 2 and turn work. (32 sts)
R13: dc dec, 28 dc, dc dec, CH 2 and ss into next stitch. (30 sts)
Crochet the collar with white color and start from the right side of corner until left
25 hdc, continue left side corner edge ss until the down side of cloth, sc in BLO, ss the right sides of the edge
again until the top of collar. (Refer P29)
Fasten off. Weave the yarn tail and hide it in beautifully.

Sleeves (black color)


Crochet in joined rounds. Start with under sleeves cuff. (Refer pg.7 P31)
R1: 3 sc, sc, 4 sc, sc, 3 sc. (12 sts)
R2: sc, Inc, 8 sc, Inc, sc. (14 sts)
R3-R4 (2 rows): Sc in each stitch around. (14 sts)
R5: sc, Inc, 10 sc, Inc, sc. (16 sts)
R6-R12 (7 rows): Sc in each stitch around. (16 sts)
Fasten off. Weave the yarn tail and hide it in beautifully.

Kimono Outer Clothing (black color)
Start with black color and crochet in a flat panel.
R1: CH25, ss in the 2nd chain from hook, 2 sc, 18 hdc, 2 sc, ss. (24 sts)
R2: CH 2 and crochet in another side, 3 hdc, hdc Inc, CH 8, skip 4, dc Inc, 6 dc, dc Inc, CH 8, skip 4, hdc Inc, 3 hdc.
(Refer P37) (20 sts + CH 16= 36 sts)
R3: CH 2 and turn work, 3 dc, dc dec, (6 dc, dc dec) x3, 4 dc. (33 sts)
R4: CH 2 and turn work, 10 dc, dc Inc, 7 dc, dc Inc, 11 dc. (32 sts)
R5-R9 (5 rows): CH 2 and turn work, 32 dc. (32 sts)
R10: dc dec, 30 dc, dc dec. (30 sts)
Ss around the edge until beginning the stitch (except for the collar)(Refer P40-41)
Fasten off. Weave the yarn tail and hide it in beautifully.

Kimono Belt (green, red and white)
Start with green color and crochet in flat panel.
These parts have a little complicated for change color technique must work in carefully.
Crochet in CH1 turn work and with the color changing in each row.
When crocheting the right sides caring the loop moves to back to carry on it. (Refer P43)
Otherwise, crochet the wrong sides caring the loop move to the front to carry on it. (Refer P46)
R1: CH 33, crochet in the 2nd chain from hook, 32 sc. (32 sts)
Change to red color CH 1 and turn work to another side
R2 (BLO): remain in [red color 4 sc, change to white 4] x4, CH 1 and turn. (32 sts)
R3: remain in [white color 4 sc, change to red color 4 sc] x4, last stitch in white color CH 7 (button hole). (32 sts)
R4: remain in [white color 4 sc, change to red color 4 sc] x4, remain red color CH 1 and turn. (32 sts)
R5: remain in [red color 4 sc, change to white color 4 sc] x4, (32 sts)
Fasten off. Weave the yarn tail and hide it in beautifully.

Middle strap of belt (khaki color)
Use the khaki color yarn makes a knot to middle. Sew through to both sides edge and hide it in beautifully.
Cut the knot in open 2 tiny straps and another way you can just glue the strap to the middle. (Refer P52)
Sew the button to opposite the button hole. (Refer P53)

Bamboo stick (green color)


Crochet in joined rounds. Sew with red color yarn in one side of the stick. (Refer P55)
R1: 5 sc in a MR. (5 sts)
R2 (BLO): 5 sc. (5 sts)
R3: 5 sc. (5 sts)
Repeat R2 & R3 x3 times then again continue below.
R4 (BLO): dec x2, sc. (3 sts)
Fasten off. Sew close up the hole and weave the yarn tail in beautifully.

Hairband (pink color)
Crochet in chain.
R1: CH 4, ss in the 1st chain, repeats one more time.
R2: CH 14, ss in the 5th chain from hook, continues ss to rest of 9 chains.
Attached it to the 2 of front hairs together (Refer P61-P62)

Hair Wig (black and red color)


Start with black color.
R1: CH 15, crochet in the 2nd chain from hook; 14 sc. (14 sts)
Begin with the back side of hair strands.
When crochet the red color change to black color just caring the red yarn tail
to 3 stitches and weave it. (Refer pg.11 P69)
R2: Black color CH 25, change to red color CH 13; ss in the 2nd chain from hook, sc, 10 hdc,
change to black color 25 hdc, ss into the R1 chain. (Refer pg.11 P71) (37 sts)

R3-R10 (8 hairs): Black color CH 25, change to red color CH 13; ss in the 2 chain from hook, sc, 10 hdc,
change to black color 25 hdc, ss into the skip 1 next of BLO the chain. (Refer pg.11 P72) (37 sts)
R11-R12 (2 hairs): Ss to the opposite sides(Refer pg.11 P73); black color CH 25, change to red color CH 13,
ss in the 2nd chain from hook, 11 sc, change to black color 25 sc,
ss into R1 both loops of next stitch. (37 sts)
R13-R16 (4 hairs): Black color CH 30, change to red color CH 13, ss in the 2nd chain from hook, sc, 10 hdc,
change to black color 30 hdc, ss in skip 1 stitch of both loops in R1. (42 sts)

R17-R20 (4 hairs): Black color CH 25, change to red color CH 13; ss in the 2 chain from hook, 11 sc,
change to black color 25 hdc, ss into R1 both loops of next stitch. (37 sts)
Fasten off. Weave the yarn tail and also the red color yarn tail in every hair strands.

Sew the eyes and eyebrows

Assembling
1. Sew the clogs strap. Refer to pg.3.
2. Place the safety eyes in-between middle space in 6 sts on R51-R52 of the head.
3. Sew middle of the kimono belt and the button. Refer to pg.9.
4. Sew the bamboo stick to the face in between R47-R48. Refer pg.9
5. Pin the hair wig to the head in between R56-R57. Refer pg.11
6. Place the hairband to the front of 2 hairs. Refer pg.10
7. Sew the eyes and eyebrows. Refer P80-P83.
