VMO and CORE VALUES of MISAMIS UNIVERSITY

I. Course Outcome : Demonstrate student’s appreciation to the vision, mission,

objectives and core values of Misamis University.

II. Learning Outcome/s : Discuss the importance of the following:

1. Application of Vision, Mission, Objectives of Misamis
University and its Core Values to the course or subject and
program enrolled
2. Grading System
3. Classroom Policies
4. Modes of Delivery of Instruction based on Modules

III. Time Frame : 1.5 Hours

IV. Introduction/Outline :
In this session, you will be discussing the vision, mission, and
objectives of the university as well as the core values and program learning
outcomes of your course/ subject.
Misamis University is an educational institution that advocates a
progressive and dynamic education that upholds the principle that God is the center
of its existence and that education its service offering to God and country.
It is the first and only ISO certified university by Det Norske Veritas, The
Netherlands for Quality Education and Service in Mindanao. The university received
ISO 9001:2000 certification in April 28, 2005 and five years later ISO 9001:2008 for
its Quality Management System pertaining to educational, research and training
services.
Misamis University stands proud of all its accomplishments having grown from only
4 courses when it started in 1929 to more than 58 courses it now offers. It has striven
hard to faithfully fulfill its mission to advocate a God-centered existence and offer
an education that is committed to the development of the person, who is God-
fearing, principled, and socially responsible, service oriented, environmentally
concerned and is competent to meet global challenges. It looks forward to climbing
new heights, to reinvent a more comprehensive and flexible system that can meet the
needs of a dynamic world.
With its present location, Misamis University has become an urban
 and modern university sharing in the development growth and success in the region
and continues to strengthen its reputation as a provider of an exceptional education

VII. Learning Activities : School – based Activities

1.1. Introduce yourself to the class and get to know your
instructor
and your classmates.
1.2. The instructor will discuss the classroom policies and
management, grading system, course expectations and
requirements.
1.3. Let students read the Student Handbook for the vision,
mission, objectives, and policies.
1.4. After reading the handbook, you may discuss the VMO with
your seatmate, questions are entertained for some clarification
of something.
1.5. The instructor may ask questions pertaining to the VMO
and
core values and may ask you to share your thought on how
MU
deliver its services to achieve its objectives.
1.6. The instructor will then discuss the VMO, core values,
university seal, short history of the university, policies and
guidelines.
1.7. The instructor then may ask students to do the following:
a. Create a collage depicting how the VMO and Core Values
of the university will guide you in passing the course/
subject and in completing their enrolled program of study
successfully.
