INTRODUCTION

I have decided what grade and what topic that I am going to use to teach elementary
school students. The grade is fourth grade and the topic is things in the classroom. The reason
why I choose grade four because students in grade four have been learning english so they
can pronounce, write and remember the words easily. About the topic, I have researched in
some books such as Erlangga and BSE (Buku Sekolah Elektronik) that in grade four the
compentence have to be reached is the ability of the students to recognize the things in the
classroom.

For teaching students in grade four I will use a song and a game to make them learn
easily and have fun. The title of the song is school song and the game is collect the pictures.
To provide my teaching learning process I will focus on one skill and one component of
english language. The skill is writing skill and the component is vocabulary. The activity that
I am going to use is crossword, I expect that through crossword the students can improve
their skill in writing and spelling the word correctly also improve their vocabularies.
 CONTENT

 SONG
The song that I am going to use is school song, the lyrics of this song are not
difficult and the rhythm not too fast. So I expect that the students can sing the song easily
and their pronunciation in correct way. In this song also there are many vocabularies that
new for some students. This is the song:

The step to teach this song:

 The teacher should be the good model for the students

 Sing the song clearly and pronounce correctly
 As the model, when singing the song the teacher should sing with act, for example when
singing “This is my table this is my chair” so the teacher should point out or touch the
things (Table and chair). The purpose is the students can recognize what the things that
mentioned while singing the song.
 Sing the song one time and be a good model
 Ask the students to follow and sing the song together.

 GAME
The title of the game is collect the pictures. This game will attract the attention of the
students because I will use the pictures to playing this game. This game included cooperative
games, because I will divide the students into some groups and each group consist of four
students. The pictures that I am going to use are random pictures, so each group will have
the same pictures and their job is to classify wheter the pictures belong to things or the others
like fruits, animals etc. I will enclose those pictures in the enclosure in order to make clearly.

The steps to teach this game

 Prepare the pictures about things in the classroom, fruits and things in the kitchen.
 Divide the students in several groups, supposed the number of the students is 20 students
and then divide them into 5 groups.
 Ask them to sit and make circle for each group.
 Distribute the pictures.
 Ask them to classify the pictures what the things in the classroom and collect those
pictures.
 The group that can collect right pictures is the winner.

 ACTIVITIES

To completing my teaching learning process I will use two activities to improve

their ability in learning english language. The frst activity is introduce them some
vocabularies about thing in the classroom, this activity will make them understand and
remember what the name of those things. While introducing the name of those things the
important thing that I have to do is touch or point out those things, because they will easily
remember if I give the real example. Afer point out or touch the thing I have to write down
the spelling of the name of the thing in blackboard or white board because they have to know
how pronounce and spell those things. The second activity is crossword, through crossword
they will learn to spell correctly the words. Absolutely the crossword that I use is provided by
pictures to make them easily filling the crossword. I will enclose the crossword in enclosure.

To make it my teaching learning process more specific and more understandable, I

make simple lesson plane.
