3. Answer the next question: ¿Why did you choose to become a tour
guide? Write, at least, 200 words.

I chose to become a tour guide because of my tastes and skills; I am interested

in areas such as geography, history, anthropology and languages; but also
because I love to travel and learn.

It is normal to find ourselves in a dilemma between studying something we are

passionate about and studying something that will give us the possibility of
having a good job and being "successful" in our professional life. The ideal would
be to find the balance.

I study Tourism because it combines many skills and leads me to be able to get
different types of jobs in the field. This will make my work not routine or automatic
at all, I will feel passionate about what I do and I will feel alive every day!

I can learn about new cultures that will surely be vital for my professional and
personal growth. In addition, I will have friends and excellent relationships around
the world, this will be very important for my happiness, for my personal and work
life.

4. Imagine that you are the owner of a tourism company, and is in front of a
group of tourists. Please, write a “Welcome protocol” where you describe
the steps you and your team will follow to give a warm welcome to the
tourists. Write a paragraph of more than 200 words and, at least, 5 different
steps.

Good morning TIME TO TRAVEL company promoter of the tour welcomes you,
my name is NICOLAS OROZCO BUSTAMANTE and I will be the guide to
accompany you during the tour we are doing. We are a company whose mission
is to make known the wonders of Lengupa, this company was born in the year
two thousand five in the municipality of Envigado. The constant amount of
foreigners who visit Envigado and the variety of its landscapes made this
company arise because it also generates foreign exchange for the municipality.
Our objective is
• Provide tourists with quality services with efficiency, to help us
differentiate our services from similar ones.
• Organize trips to different tourist points.
• That the quality of our services exceeds those of the competition and the
expectations of our customers.

Our company works for an environmental and social commitment, offers a quality
service
Offer a human service and with the highest quality standards, provide the
customer with security and confidence when providing the service, stay at the
forefront in terms of market needs. Ethical behavior is maintained inside and

2. Write a series of 7 recommendations your tourists must follow for a

good tour guiding.

 Pack the appropriate clothes according to the area you are going to
visit.
 Bring personal hygiene items; sunscreen, insect repellent.
 You must purchase travel insurance that provides coverage for
medical care and emergency hospital care.
 you must carry your personal documents (identification, health
insurance card, passport).
 Along the way, leave only your tracks and not other marks of your
step:
 If you are taking any medication, are under medical treatment or
have an allergy, let us know beforehand and do not forget to pack
your medications.

3. Include 2 warming up group activities you can use for the first time with
your tourists, and describe what would you do, your expressions and
your expectations. Check different activities in the learning material.

1. SHAKE AND WAKE UP: one foot / one leg / fingers of one hand / one
hand / one arm / trunk of the body / head with tongue out / all parts of the
body / combine different parts (fun).
 2. INDIVIDUAL BREATHING: move around the place making short and
quick inspirations smelling the environment, the various objects and things,
the partners.

visiting the different destinations. After that, write your answer.
