(ASSIGNMENT #3)

Directions:
Answer the following questions in 10 sentences:
–Why is it your responsibility to learn how to acknowledge your sources of
information? Was there an instance in your life when you failed to give credit
to the people who helped you? Explain.

 We are presently in an age of misinformation. It has become increasingly difficult to sort truth
from fiction, facts from lies, and news from opinion. Everyone should take care of proper
referencing at the time of making research assignments or even simply sharing information on
social media. Therefore, one should understand the importance of properly referencing the
information we get from other resources or in the making of our research assignment as it
ensures the validity of one's own work. There is an instance that I failed to give credit to the
person who helped me and because of that incident, my friend felt upset and disappointed with
me because of course none of us want his/her work or ideas to be stolen or imitated by anyone.
And at that moment I learned from that mistake of mine and I made sure it would never happen
again. Just like at school, when we have group activities or reports that need to be done, we put
in the presentation what each member has helped or contributed because it feels great to be
appreciated for what you did. It’s motivating and satisfying, and it builds relationships while
driving us to work even harder as a team or a group. To conclude, if we want our work to be
treated as important by others, it is important to give credit to the others that made our work
possible. It’s very important to recognize a person’s contributions which get them to realize they
are noticed and appreciated for what they have done and it is an act to pay respect for the hard
work and dedication and the efforts one has put into their work.
