Date:   February 24, 2022
Name:   Landi Luke
Essential Question:   what can we do to help children that can’t afford school supplies?

Three Points to Prove: #1:   school supplies should be accessible to all children

#2:  access to education shouldn’t be determined by how poor or rich the
family is

#3: there are many students that don’t have access to school supplies and it
effects

Point that this Source Proves:   # 1

Excerpts (These should provide insight into the Point to Prove)

“According to back-to-school analyst, nearly a third of families cannot afford school supplies
for their children” (0:10)

“According to the Hillsborough education foundation, many students that don’t have these
necessary supplies can be in big trouble.” (0:31)

“Their self esteem isn’t as high as other students. They’re not ready to learn so it affects then in
the classroom as well” (0:40)

Analysis (How does this source support the Point to Prove?):

This source supports my point to prove because in the first minute of the video, they’re
already talking about how low a child’s self esteem can be when they are behind in the
required school supplies. This is something that supports my first point to prove because
school supplies should be more accessible for students especially if their learning depends
on it.
