Problem Solving

Planning for Theoretical Problems

Problems I may encounter when How I plan to resolve these issues

researching and planning

- Finding sources other than websites - Look in any other sources possible, books,
youtube clips and articles
- Having a range of people to talk too - I will talk to as many people I possibly can
and if they don’t want to be filmed I will
annotate the conversation
- Finding locations and them being available - Try lots of different places that are similar
and public places so I don’t need permission

Planning for Practical and Technical Problems

Problems I may encounter when filming How I plan to resolve these issues

- Finding actors and their availability - Use friends, contact people in the drama
department and try and film on weekends or
when most people are available
- Weather - This could be an issue at anypoint, so
planning around it and constantly checking.
- Equipment failure - Carefully handling everything

Mid Project Check-up ( After Research)

- Getting everything in on time - Create a detailed production schedule and

share it with peers so they know when I am
free to help them
- Writing a good script - Look at popular coming of age films and
their scripts for inspiration.

End Project Review

Problems I faced How I solved them

- Not finding actors and cancellations - I got in contact with friends from another
college who study performing arts as well as
using peer help, we worked around
everyone's schedule
- Capturing Audio - I borrowed a microphone from college and
tried to capture the best audio possible with it
mounted on my camera. In post I used the
audio gain option in premiere pro to adjust
each clip appropriately.
- Lighting - I took my panel lights with me to film. For
the evening scenes I colour graded in
premiere pro to make it seem as though it
was later on in the night as I couldn’t film
during nightime.
