Okay class let us have a recap on the concepts of
angles and lines

2
1 3
4
Class what type of angle is ∠ 1, ¿ ∠ 3?
Vertical angles

Very good! Give him/her 3 claps!

What type of angle is ∠ 1, ¿ ∠ 4 ?

Adjacent angles
Correct! And we know they formed a straight
line therefore they are linear pair and
supplementary sum of two angles is 180.
A
B

What have you notice class in line A and line B?

They crossing or meet each other
Correct! Therefore, this what we call interesting
lines

Next parallel lines

A
B

This is the parallel lines class

We can say that line A is parallel to line B

Parallel line are coplanar lines that do not

interesects

Let’s have another the transversal lines

B A

Class Line C is our transversal, because

intersects line A and line B.

Transversal is a line intersecting two or more

coplanar lines at different points.

B. Establishing a Let’s have our activity

purpose for the lesson
Find your own partner

1. Purchase masking tape or painters’ tape for

the floor

2. Locate a large area to play that or move the

desks in your room.

3. Tape to parallel lines & a transversal on the

floor, one for each partner.

I have here the 5 figures, and if I say the number

you’re going to put your feet on the location of
the number I say. Did you understand?
Yes sir!

(Students move)

Very Good class, Thank you for your

cooperation.

Now take a look at the figure, what you have

noticed?
C. Presenting Here are the learning objectives
examples/ instances (class please read)
of the new lesson

Illustrate properties of parallel lines cut by a (Students will read)

transversal
Find the measures of the angles in the parallel
lines cut by transversal

Let’s have an example what are the angles

formed in parallel lines cut by transversal.

Based on the given will you give me the

transversal line?
The transversal line is line C
Very good!

Given by tis angles so we have 8 angles here.

Now will you give me those interior angles?

Yes sir! We have∠ 3, ∠4 , ∠ 5, ∠ 6

Very good! Give him/her 3 claps

And we know that the exterior angles are ∠ 1,

∠ 2 ,∠ 7 , ∠8

Now, will you give me one interior angle and

another interior angle that lie on opposites side
of a transversal.
Sir we have ∠ 3 and ∠6 , ∠4 and ∠ 5
Very good! Give him/her 3 claps!
Ok class, ∠ 3 and ∠6 , ∠4 and ∠ 5 these angles
is what we call the alternate interior angles

Next will you give me two exterior angles that

lie on opposite sides of the transversal.

Sir we have ∠2and ∠8 and ∠ 1 and ∠ 7

Very good! Give him/her 3 claps!

Those angles are what we call alternate exterior

angles

Can you follow class?

Yes sir!
Next, will you give me two angles, one interior
and the other exterior, on the same side of the
transversal.
∠2 and ∠ 5, ∠ 3 and ∠ 7, ∠1 and ∠ 6,
∠4 and ∠8
Precisely! These angles are what we call
corresponding angles

Questions?

None sir!

D. Discussing new Let’s have this example

concepts and
practicing new skills
#1

Now, let’s find the measure of all the angles.

Class we have only two measures angle 2=100°

and angle 6=80°

What angle formed by angle1 and 2?

Correct! Sir, they are adjacent angles
If they are adjacent the angles are formed what?
They formed linear pair
Very good! so the sum is 180°
We know that angle 2 is 100° now will you give
me now the measure of angle 1? Sir, angle 1 is 80°
Very good! Him/her 3 claps!
Next how about ∠ 3 and ∠ 1? Sir, they are vertical angles
Very good! We know that vertical angles are
congruent therefore, what is the measure of
angle is ∠ 3 Sir, ∠ 3 =80°
Very good!

How about ∠ 4 ? Sir, ∠4=100 °

Excellent!

Now, if ∠6=80 ° what is the measure of ∠ 5 ? Sir 100°

Very good!
Find the measure of angle 7 and 8
Sir, the measure of angle 7 is 80° and
angle8 is 100°
Great job! Give him/her 3 claps!

Now we already complete the measures of the

angles now will you give me the corresponding
angles? Corresponding angles are ∠ 2 and ∠ 5,
Very good! ∠3 and ∠ 7, ∠ 1 and ∠ 6 , ∠4 and ∠8
what have you noticed to corresponding angles?

Sir, corresponding angles are same

measure
Precisely! Give him/her 3 claps!

Therefore, in the parallel line cut by transversal

the corresponding angles are congruent

Next, what have you noticed to the alternate

interior angles? Sir, alternate interior angles are also
congruent.
Precisely! Give him/her 3 claps!

How about alternate exterior angles what have

you noticed?

Sir, alternate exterior angles are also

Good job! congruent

Do you have questions?

None sir!
E. Finding practical
applications of Let’s answer this!
concepts and skills in
daily living. In the illustration we have an antenna and looks
like formed a parallel line and a transversal lines
that cuts the parallel lines and formed an angles

A
C
W

Find the angles marked with letters

∠ A=110°
∠C=110 °
∠W =70°
∠T =70 °
1.What is the relationship of ∠T ∧∠ X ? ∠ X =70 °

2.What relationship of angle ∠ T ∧∠ p=70 ?

3.What relationship of angle ∠ A∧∠C

4.How about What relationship of angle

∠ p∧∠ X ?

5.What is the relationship of ∠T ∧∠ W ?

1.Vertical angles
2.corresponding angles
3.vertical angles
4.Alternate exterior angles
5.Alternate interior angles.
Very good1 class give yourselves 3 claps!
H. Making Summarize your learnings in this lesson
generalizations and
abstractions about the Activity 3: Directions: Match the definition in
lesson Column A to the item in Column B. Write the
letter of your choice in a separate sheet of paper.

Column A

1. It is line that intersects two or more coplanar

lines.

2. The four angles formed that lie outside the

parallel lines cut by a transversal line.

3. Two angles, one interior and the other

exterior, on the same side of the transversal.

4. Two interior angles that lie on opposite sides

of a transversal.

5. Two exterior angles that lie on opposite sides

of the transversal.

Column B

a. Alternate Interior Angles

b. Alternate Exterior Angles
c. Corresponding Angles 1.F
2.D
d. Exterior Angles 3.C
e. Interior Angles 4.A
f. Transversal 5.B

I. Evaluating Now that you’ve understand our lesson. Let’s

Learning have a quiz.

A. Directions: Decide whether each

statement is TRUE or FALSE. If the
statement is FALSE, correct the
statement. Write the answers in a
separate sheet of paper.

Example:

∠3 and ∠4 are exterior angles.

Answer: False, Interior angles

1. ∠5 and ∠6 are interior angles.

2. ∠6 is congruent to ∠8.

3. ∠1 and ∠7 are corresponding angles.

4. ∠3 and ∠5 are alternate interior angles.

5. ∠2 and ∠6 are alternate exterior angles.

B. Find the measure of the missing angles

A
1 B
50° 130°
50° =23 6
5 8 A.
7 C
1.True
2.True
3false alternate exterior angles
4.True
5.false corresponding angles

B.
1 ∠ 1=130 °
2. ∠ 3=130°
3.∠ 5=50°
4. ∠7=130°
5. ∠8=50°

Excellent class! Give yourselves 3 claps!

J. Additional Assignment
activities for
application or
remediation. Find the measure of missing angles

If ∠ 2=2 X and ∠4=50 ° find the measure of

∠ 2 and ∠6

∠2 ≅ ∠4
2X=50
X=25
∠ 2=2 X
2(25)=50
∠ 2=50 °

∠ 4 ≅ ∠6
50=∠ 6
