What are we?

We are an organization that was


started to bring people closer to the
Environment, and Wildlife via
awareness created through facts,
and information. We believe in the
fact that awareness is the
foundational reason behind
effective conservation; therefore, we
do what we do to achieve the same!
What do we do?

Currently, we have three different wings that function


independently on different niches of the domain of the
Environment and Wildlife, which are as follows:

the Irula Collective with a sole goal of
creating awareness and conservation of
snakes amidst general public.

The Irula Collective

 The Irula people are a Dravidian Ethinic


Group inhabiting Tamilnadu, Kerala, and
Karnataka.
 They are one of the oldest indigenous
community and are vividly known for their
ancient and intimate knowledge of snakes.
 Their skills play a vital role, but are nearly
invisible in the healthcare system.

We will be providing a custom kit to all


the participants. The following will be
provided to all the participants before
the event starts.

What can you expect?

 Informative Session on the Snakes of


Tamilnadu
 A Brief Introduction to the Big-four Snakes
of India
 Witnessing wild snakes from their natural
habitat under expert supervision
 Meeting the people of the Irula Collective
 in the Outskirts of the city to sight reptiles
and amphibians

On an overall note, it will be an


engaging evening that will help
keep you closely associated with
nature!
Snake Walk Preview
Snake Walk Itinerary

 Gather at a designated spot between 06:30 PM


and 06:50 PM
 Leave together to the walking spot and start-off
by 07:00 PM
 An interactive session will be held where the
participants will be introduced to snakes both
physically (with the assistance of the Irula
Collective) and theoretically (by the curator of
Wildlife Portal of India)
 The participants are given a break in-between
the session to have Dinner
 The participants can ask all the questions they
have during the course of the walk, and will be
added to a WhatsApp group in which interactions
can continue
 There will be a myth-busting session after dinner,
which will address all the pre-existing myths and
misconceptions that revolve around snakes
Prerequisites

 Wear Shoes (Compulsory)


 Wear Full Pants (Compulsory)
 Water Bottles (Reusable, Non-plastic)
 Cameras (Optional)
 Torch Light (Optional)
Guidelines

 Face mask must be worn through the walk


 Social Distancing must be strictly adhered to during the
walk
 Handling, agitating, or disturbing snakes is forbidden
and shall warrant strict action.
 Collection of any kind of flora, fauna, stones, pebbles,
or fungi are not permitted.
 Exercise caution, control, care during observation and
photography of snakes to avoid stressing the snake or
creating a conflict situation.
 Any request to handle the snake will not be permitted
or entertained.
 Smoking and Drinking will be not be entertained during
the walk. They are strictly prohibited during the session.
 Kindly avoid carrying plastics; in case it is unavoidable,
we request that you carry back plastic waste with you.
E.g. Pet bottles, plastic bags etc,.
