more clear, coherent, and effective

Purposes of communication
1. To inform
• the main purpose of
informative or expository
communication or writing is
to simply convey
information factually.
Tips in doing an
informative
presentation:
1. Stick to the facts.
2. Avoid repetition.
3. Make it clear.
2. To persuade
• in writing, it is pushing
across an idea and convin-
cing people or readers to
support the idea you want to
convey.

Examples:
a. TV commercials
b. periodical advertisements
c. billboards
Tips in doing a
persuasive
presentation:
1. Be objective, but
subjective.
2. Cite, cite, cite.
2. To argue
• tries to make listeners/
readers believe that your
idea is better based on the
various reasons that you have
at hand.
