OBJECTVES:
1. Identify and enumerate the types of force.
2. Use the Law of Inertia in explaining the changes in the state
of motion of a body.
Word detect: Reveal the mystery word using
the short description in each number.

FORCE – Push or pull
Types of forces
APPLIED FORCE – Force that is GRAVITATIONAL FORCE – Force exerted
applied on an object through direct by gravity; also known as weight; mass times
pushing or pulling gravity
Types of forces
NORMAL FORCE – Force that is perpendicular to the
ELASTIC FORCE – Force
surface an object is in contact with; if there’s no
surface in contact, then there’s no normal force present in springs
Types of forces
TENSION FORCE – Force that is present FRICTIONAL FORCE – Force that
in cables, strings, cords, and other similar impedes motion
materials.
Law of Inertia
- states that a body at rest will continue to be at rest, and a body in constant motion will
continue to be in constant motion along a straight line unless acted on by a net external.

INERTIA – tendency of a
body to resist any change in
its motion.
ISAAC NEWTON
He developed the THREE
LAWS OF MOTION, THE
LAW OF UNIVERSAL
GRAVITATION, and made
discoveries in the field of
infinitesimal calculus

Just like an object that experiences a push or

pull, people’s criticisms may either push or pull
you down. Learn to handle people’s criticism in
improving oneself.
