b. Roman Empire
Physical Education in Ancient Rome was considered as an important part of
national strength. As militaristic, people of all ages were encouraged to
improve their physical strength as military preparedness.
c. Medieval Period
To realize the importance of physical activities, medical gymnastics was
established during this period,Ancient china contributed kung fu as an earliest
exercise in the history also yoga has been contributed by indian people that
exercises the posture and regulates breathing.
d. Renaissance
Renaissance period was time of change and rebirth. The rise of middle class
occurred, and sports became popular during times of gathering, which
brought people together with the greatness of more free time.
e. Modern Europe
Modern European countries contributed growth and advancement to the
physical education. During this time Johann Bernhard Basedow established a
school called Phelanthropinum the first school in modern europe offered a
program were physical education was in the curriculum.
Two books Gymnastics for the young and games where illustrations of
exercises and apparatus were illustrated was written by Johann Christoph
Friedrich Guts Muths. Gustaf Nybleus’ innovations contributed to the inclusion
of women in school, and specialized in military gymnastics. Primitive
gymnastics was introduced by Neil Bukh.

Physical Education was similar to that of what the Greeks were using it for
both educate and train soldiers for the eventual battle. physically would
develop to be much more monumental. Health-related topics were taken
seriously by schools across the country, both on the playground and in the
classroom, and courses targeted toward physical development would be
given more attention. Colleges would follow suit as well, schools all over the
united states. Physical education programs, girls were mostly involved with
gymnastics while boys would join in rougher activities. However, both male
and female became educated on elements such as body composition,
flexibility, endurance, and nutrition.
