PRIVACY NOTICE FOR BACKGROUND VERIFICATION

Please carefully read the privacy notice (“Notice”) below. It provides important information to you
regarding the collection, use, transfer and storage of your personal data for purposes of verifying your
background in connection with your employment or application for employment. In the event that any
translation of this Notice is prepared, the English version of this Notice shall prevail in case of conflicts
between the different language versions.

This Notice explains how and why Accenture PLC and/or its affiliates (“Accenture”; “we”) processes your
personal data, who has access to your personal data and how you can exercise your rights in relation to your
personal data. Further information on Accenture (and if relevant its representative) can be found here. Any
Accenture entity located outside the European Union will be represented by Accenture PLC.

Accenture has engaged an outside agency, First Advantage Background Services Corp. & its Affiliated
Background Screening Entities (“First Advantage”), 1 Concourse Parkway NE. Suite 200. Atlanta, GA
30328. First Advantage will receive your personal data from Accenture and directly from you. First
Advantage and its representatives will then research, verify and process your personal data. First Advantage
will prepare a report that compiles the results of its research and verification and will provide that report to
Accenture.

Why do we collect your personal data?

We collect your personal data for the purpose of verifying your background in connection with your
employment or application for employment.

Specifically, we will use your personal data to determine your eligibility for employment and/or to meet
Accenture’s contractual relationships with certain clients who may require additional background checks
to be performed.

We will not use your personal data for purposes that are incompatible with the purposes listed in this Notice,
unless it is required or authorized by law, or it is in your own vital interest (e.g. in case of a medical
emergency) to do so.

What personal data will we collect?

We will collect information relating to your identity, which may include (to the extent applicable law
allows):

 your contact details.


 your address history.
 your professional standing.
 your work history.
 your educational history.
 personal references.
 your professional qualifications.
 your driving licence.
 your military record.
 your credit history.
The specific information that will be collected and maintained about you will depend upon the nature of
your role Accenture’s policies, and client(s)’ requirements (if any).

From what sources do we obtain the personal data used to conduct the background verification?

We collect your personal data when you provide it to us during the recruitment process. We will receive
information about you from other sources, such as the referees you provide from previous employment,
education institutions and First Advantage. We combine information that we have about you from various
sources, including the information that you have provided to us.

First Advantage will use any appropriate and reliable source to conduct this research and verification for
the foregoing checks, including but not limited to the following sources: Accenture, current and past
employers, motor vehicle or driving records, military records, identity records, school/educational records
and professional and personal references.

Can you choose not to provide your personal data to Accenture?

Except for certain information that is required by law, your decision to provide any personal data to
Accenture is voluntary.

You may refuse to provide certain personal data but doing so may cause delays to or otherwise impact
Accenture determination of your eligibility for employment or continued employment.

On what legal basis or bases are your personal data processed?

We process your personal data as permitted by applicable data privacy laws and our internal policies.
Specifically, the processing of your data as described in this Notice, is done on the following legal bases
(inclusive without limitation):

 to comply with legal and regulatory obligations, including where processing is necessary for the
purposes of performing or exercising obligations or rights which are imposed or conferred by law.
For example, certain roles will require candidates to undergo enhanced levels of screening as a
result of legal requirements in relation to certain areas of the business and/or positions.

 for legitimate business purposes. We use your personal data to carry out the pre-employment
background checks. Pre-employment background checks are required in order that Accenture does
not employ individuals who are considered to present a risk to Accenture which is inconsistent with
Accenture’s expectations and minimum standards for the workplace, including risks to its
personnel, sites and/or confidential information and to assess whether the qualifications of
candidates are appropriate for the role being applied for. Decisions to reject candidates following
pre-employment screening will be made using appropriate evidence and according to Accenture’s
appropriate local policies for employment decisions.

 for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or proceedings.

Do we process any information relating to criminal convictions and offences?

In the context of the background verification, we may process certain information relating to criminal
convictions and offences. Such information may be obtained from criminal conviction records and by
contacting law enforcement and governmental agencies to check civil and criminal records.
Criminal background checks are required for certain individuals whose career level, role, or access to secure
locations are considered to present a risk to Accenture’s or its clients’ personnel, sites and/or confidential
information. Decisions taken on these results will be made using appropriate evidence and according to
Accenture’s appropriate local policies for employment decisions.

Who has access to your personal data?

Within Accenture, only those with a need to know will have access to the results of your background report.

We may also provide your personal data to third parties if we need to do so to carry out the research and
verification or where required in the context of a client engagement, including:

 approved third party service providers, including First Advantage (note that only personnel of First
Advantage who have a need to know will have access to your personal data solely for the purposes
as described in this Notice of researching and creating a background check report for Accenture).

 our professional advisors and auditors.

 current and previous employers, educational institutions, referees or First Advantage’s


representatives who are performing specific research in connection with your background
verification.

 in the context of a client engagement, where our client requests to review the results of the
background check.

All such third parties are generally subject to contractual obligations in relation to the processing of your
personal data and your background report will limited to those personnel with a need to know.

Will we transfer your personal data outside your country?

As a global organization with global IT systems, your personal data may be transferred to other Accenture
offices in Accenture's worldwide organization. Accenture has internal policies to ensure an equivalent level
of protection is in place across Accenture’s worldwide organization.

We have put in place adequate measures such as standard contractual clauses, inter-company agreements
or binding corporate rules to protect your information during any transfers of your personal data to other
Accenture offices from within your country to another country (cross-border transfers). . A list of the
Accenture offices that may process your personal data, and their contact information, can be found here.
Accenture also has appropriate contractual and organization arrangements in place with First Advantage
and any other relevant subcontractors to ensure an adequate level of protection of personal information at
all times.
Furthermore, your personal data may be transferred to certain third parties (as described in the section “Who
has access to your personal data?”) located in countries outside of your country. Specifically:

 where your personal data are transferred to First Advantage, this may involve a transfer to affiliates
of First Advantage located outside your country. Further, First Advantage will maintain your
personal data on a server in the United States. First Advantage adheres to the privacy principles of
notice, choice, onward transfer, security, data integrity, access, and enforcement as explained more
fully in the privacy policy available at https://fadv.com/privacy-policy.aspx. Any transfers of
personal data to First Advantage in the United States will be done in accordance with the EU-U.S.

 your personal data may be transferred to other third parties outside of your country of residence
and such transfers will be made in accordance with applicable law. A copy of the transfer

How do we protect your personal data?

We maintain organizational, physical and technical security arrangements for all the personal data we hold.
We have protocols, controls and relevant policies, procedures and guidance to maintain these arrangements
taking into account the risks associated with the categories of personal data and the processing we
undertake.

We adopt market leading security measures to protect your personal data. This includes (without being
limitative):

 we hold an ISO27001 certification, which indicates that we adhere to the highest and strictest
information security standards. This is a security standard awarded by the British Standards
Institution that serves as international certification that we adhere to the highest and strictest
standards. This certification is the only auditable international standard that defines the
requirements for an Information Security Management System and confirms that our processes and
security controls provide an effective framework for protecting your personal data.

 we have regular penetration testing performed by a third-party provider, which continues to show
the strength of our technical defenses.

For how long are your personal data retained?

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary. We maintain specific records management
and retention policies and procedures, so that personal data are deleted after a reasonable time according to
the following retention criteria:

 if, following the pre-employment screening process, you commence or continue employment with
Accenture, your personal data will be kept with your employment records and retained in
accordance with the timelines that will be communicated to you at the start of and/or during your
employment.

 if, following the pre-employment screening process, you do not commence employment with
Accenture, your personal data will be kept for 6 months or in accordance with applicable law
requirements and recommendations after completion of the screening process.

 we retain your personal data for as long as needed in order to comply with a legal obligation to
which we are subject.

 we retain your personal data where this is advisable to safeguard or improve our legal position (for
instance in relation to statutes of limitations, litigation, or regulatory investigations).
Please keep your personal data at all times up to date and inform us of any material changes to your personal
data.

What rights do you have concerning your personal data?

You may have the right (in the circumstances and under the conditions, and subject to the exceptions, set
out in applicable law) to:

 request access to, including a copy of, your personal data: this right entitles you to know whether
Accenture holds personal data of you and, if so, obtain information on and a copy of those personal
data.

 request rectification of your personal data: this right entitles you to have your personal data be
corrected if they are inaccurate or incomplete.

 request the erasure of your personal data: this right entitles you to request the erasure of your
personal data, including where such personal data would no longer be necessary to achieve the
purposes.

 object to the processing of your personal data: this right entitles you to request that Accenture no
longer processes your personal data.

 request the restriction of the processing of your personal data: this right entitles you to request that
Accenture only processes your personal data in limited circumstances, including with your consent.

 request the portability of your personal data: this right entitles you to receive a copy (in a structured,
commonly used and machine-readable format) of personal data that you have provided to
Accenture, or request Accenture to transmit such personal data to another data controller.

To the extent the processing of your personal data falls in scope of Accenture’s BCR, you may also want
to review your rights under Accenture’s BCR.

Where the processing of your personal data is based on your consent, you have the right to withdraw your
consent to the processing of your personal data at any time by contacting Accenture’s data protection officer
at dataprivacyofficer@accenture.com. Please note that this will not affect Accenture’s right to process
personal data obtained prior to the withdrawal of your consent, or its right to continue parts of the processing
based on other legal bases than your consent.

Please note, however, that certain personal data may be exempt from the above-mentioned rights pursuant
to applicable data protection or other laws and regulations.

If, despite Accenture’s commitment and efforts to protect your personal data, you believe that your data
protection rights have been violated, Accenture encourages and welcomes you to come to Accenture first
to seek resolution of any complaint. You have the right at all times to lodge a complaint directly with a
supervisory authority or to make a claim against Accenture with a competent court (either in the country
where you live, the country where you work or the country where you deem that data protection law has
been infringed).
