A very good morning, ladies and gentlemen. On behalf of Army Institute of Management and
Technology, it is indeed an honour for us, to welcome you all for the inaugural session of HR
Conclave 2021.
I, Siddhant Pant & I NIKITA KADIAN will be your host for this session.
At the outset, we would like to express our deep gratitude to all dignitaries for joining us
today for HR Conclave 2021 on “Rewiring of Work Place during the Transition Time”
Nikita:
COVID-19 has disrupted global economies and businesses, and Human Resources (HR) has
been at the heart of it. For HR professionals, the priority has been laid in adjusting to the
current reality and in coming up with a back-to-work strategy that balances business
continuity with the health and happiness of their workforce.
The Pandemic has indeed given a new definition to the workforce. Now that the economy is
entering the new normal & in its transition phase characterised by the ever-looming threat of
lockdown snapping back, the professional world is looking at the way to create resilience and
win in the recovery process and therefore we at AIMT decided to dwell upon the same.
The HR Conclave 2021 Deliberations today will be on the following themes:
• Scrutinizing the rewiring needs and challenges of companies during the transition and
rise from the Pandemic era

• Return to work-Concerns for the organizations

• Employee well-being in the transition time

I feel honoured to introduce, Lieutanant General V.K. Mishra, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal,
General Officer Commanding Delhi Area and Patron (AIMT).

Sir was commissioned into the 17 battallion of the Jammu and Kashmir rifles in december
1985, which he went on to command later. He is a graduate of the defence staff college,
Wellington and has attended a higher Command course and National Defence College at New
Delhi.
Sir, has also commanded a rifle company in high altitude and intense Counter insurgency
Operations in South Kashmir as well as in the deserts. Sir’s Command assignments have been
equally challenging- starting from Battalion Command in Siachen Glacier & Kashmir to the
command of a mountain division in North-East, having an operational role in the Indo-China
border. He has also held crucial staff appointments such as, head of operations branch of a
strike division as well as of, the Mountain Strike corps. He also went on to command an
Assam Rifles Sector in Counter- insurgency Operation (Operation HIFAZAT), Tripura and a
mountain division deployed in Eastern Frontier.
We are more than pleased to invite Lieutanant General V.K. Mishra, General Officer

Nikita: Address by Guest of Honor (Mr. P Dwarka Nath)


Today, I feel honoured to introduce, Mr. P Dwarakanath, Former Chairman CSK Consumer.
Sir has brought a rich and varied experience of five decades in the arena of Leadership
Development ,Human capital, Employee Relations, Legal and Corporate Governance. Till
recently, he was the Chairman of GSK Consumer Healthcare and Director – Human
Resources and associated with GSK for over four decades. He has held Board/Advisory
positions in several organisations. Sir was also associated with Max and DCM/Shriram
Group of companies during his career.
His list of contributions is numerous, but the most apparent is the culture that he has
championed in GSK business. His passion for building a progressive and people-centric
culture is apparent from the fact that GSK had been adjudged as one of India’s “Best
Employers” for several years. His initiatives to drive the new corporate culture during times
of integration, such as through ‘Simply Better Way’, were benchmark for then SmithKline
Beecham.

He has held several management positions in the various professional bodies. To name a few,
he was the President of National Human Resources Development Network (NHRDN),
President of Delhi Management Association (DMA), Regional President – Northern Region
of All India Management Association (AIMA) and Treasurer of AIMA. He has also won
several prestigious awards for his valuable contribution to the business and also in the field
of Human Resources and Leadership Development.

Siddhant: Chief Guest Address


Today, we have with us, Mr. Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Director at Maruti
Suzuki India Ltd. In his current role he is responsible for the Marketing and Sales vertical
and is in-charge of both Brand Marketing related activities and Retails Channel management.

He is an Electronics Engineer and a post-graduate from the prestigious Indian Institute of


Management Ahmedabad. He joined Maruti Suzuki as a Management trainee almost 30 years
ago and has been through various functions like Corporate Planning, Marketing, Advertising,
Logistics, Field Sales, Dealer Development, Institutional Sales, Sales Planning and
International Marketing.

He has been instrumental in making the various initiatives in the fast-changing Automobile
scenario and has played a key role in transforming the M&S area at Maruti Suzuki over the
years including the current drive for greater Digitalisation.
Sir, we are privileged to have you today. Now, we would like to invite Mr. Shashank

Nikita Key Note Address 1
Moving forward with our key note speaker, we have with us Mr. Mussarat Hussain, who is
currently heading Leadership and Functional School at Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. He has had 3
decades of rich experience in Corporate HR & Plant HR in diverse Industries like
Engineering, Automotive & IT and has also worked with companies like Eicher Goodearth
Ltd, KHD, HEG Limited, and Digital Equipment India Limited (DEC) in the past. He has
unique experience of working with American, European, Indian & now Japanese Corporates.
He is well versed with different work cultures, processes & practices. He is a post graduate in
PM & IR from XISS Ranchi and has delivered several guest lectures with various B schools
like IIM’s, MDI Gurgaon, IIFT Delhi, IMI Delhi, and other premier B-schools.
I would like to invite Mr. Mussarat Hussain, to deliver the key Note Address. Sir Please.

It brings me immense pleasure in introducing Mr. Sandeep Tyagi, Head- Human Resource,
Chemicals, Uflex, as the Key note speaker for the Inaugural session. He is an alumnus of
Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi university.
Mr. Sandeep Tyagi, has 22 years of accomplished career and has formerly worked with
Videocon Industries Ltd, Bharti Airtel Limited, Sony, Samsung and much more.

Inaugural Session
Next we have, is Dr. Irfan Rizvi, who has had a dynamic experience of over 27 years of
teaching, research, consulting training, academic administration, and corporate experience.
He has been the Director of various business schools for almost 14 years and contributed to
institutional growth and development in various intellectual, geographical and financial
aspects. Sir has received Research grant from All India Council for technical Education
(AICTE) and World Health Organization (WHO).
To deliver the Inaugural address I would like to invite Dr. Irfan Rizvi, Prof. Leadership &

It’s said that” change is the only constant” and it’s indeed true, as it can be seen from
the changes in the mode of working that organizations have brought in due to
pandemic. On this note ,Thank you so much sir for your wonderful thoughts on how
companies are rewiring need during this pandemic era.

Siddhant: Thematic Address


For the thematic address, we have with us Mr. Rajneesh Singh. He comes with over three
decades of experience as a HR practitioner and an HR entrepreneur. In his corporate avatar,
he served well known organizations like Eicher, Gillette and Network18 Group.
In January 2011 he co-founded SimplyHR Solutions which today is an end-to-end HR firm
catering to Start ups, SMEs and Large organizations. He is an active contributor towards
Entrepreneurship Development at school level initiated by Delhi Government and is on the
Academic & Corporate Advisory Council at Army Institute of Management and Technology,
Greater Noida. He is a Mentor at School of Inspired Leadership, Gurugram and is involved
with a school for Autism children, Parivartan school in Delhi and is one of the earliest
supporters of Nayi Disha, Gurugram, a school for under privileged children. He is passionate
about making a difference in the lives of people who need more opportunities to achieve their
aspirations. He is a published author, a social media enthusiast and loves anything to do with
the outdoors.

Aparna- A Very Good Afternoon to everyone present here, On behalf of Army Institute of
Management & Technology, it is an honour for us to welcome you to the First Technical
Session of HR Conclave 2021. Going to work will not be the same again. With the changing
environment and the spread of coronavirus, people returning to work will face the burden of
new challenges. Employees returning to work might have various concerns regarding their
safety. Many HR professionals are re-evaluating their agendas. Pondering on this idea, Army
institute of Management and Technology, presents its first technical session on “Return to
work- Concerns for the organization".

Aayush- It is indeed an honour for us, Aayush Sharma and I Aparna Soni, to be your hosts
for this session. At the outset, we would like to extend a warm and cordial welcome to all the
delegates joining us today for the First Technical session of the HR conclave 2021.
Aparna- Today, I feel honoured to introduce our session chair, A Global HR leader with
more than 21 years of work experience, including extensive International HR experience in
UK and Ireland. Mr. Avdhesh Dixit had led HR function for USA, Europe, Latin America &
Middle East. He is an MBA in Human Resource from Delhi School of Economics and is
currently serving as the Chief Human Resources Officer with Acquity Knowledge Partners.
He has earlier worked with organisations like Moody's corporation, GE Capital, CMC Ltd
and TCS.
I request Mr. Avdhesh Dixit to share his valuable insights on the topic.

Aayush - As one of the panellists for today’s session we have Sanjay Kumar who has played
important leadership roles in HR and other functional domains for 30 years now. He has
experience in end-to end HR, People Processes, Leadership & Org. Development, Business
Excellence, Organizational Transformation, Lean implementation, Business System
Improvement, BPR and in driving high impact transformation & organisational change
initiatives. Currently working as Head - Human Resource in L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad. He
has also worked as CHRO in Reliance Power, Head HR in Jindal Power Ltd. and Head HR in
NPC of India. A B.tech and Postgraduate in Industrial Engineering and Human Resource, he
also has horizontal experience of other functional area such as project execution, Project
Planning, Planning and Operations of multiunit manufacturing set up.

This Technical Session will be focused on “Employee well -being in the transition time”
The COVID-19 pandemic forced organizations across the globe into a balancing act –
protecting the health and safety of their employees while simultaneously continuing their
operations. The last two years specially have been an epic test of character and determination
for millions of people around the world. While many jobs were lost or furloughed adding to
the stress on the employees, how this was managed by industry leaders has altered the
perception of current employees, candidates and even the consumers alike.

Shaurya:
Joining us, we have Mr. Dharm Rakshit as the respected session chair who would be leading
and moderating this session today.
Mr Rakshit is the Lead Human Resources Officer at Hero Moto Corporation.
He has wealth of experience in human resource management, and has also worked with some
of the leading companies.
Sir is responsible for creating a meaningful and engaging workplace by Providing end-to-end
HR support, enabling the businesses to grow. Creating HR plans for the short, medium, and
long term that are in sync with the business defines his moralities. His key deliverables
include talent management & development, HR policy designing and employee relationship
and transformation in a high-performance driven culture among many other things.
Prior to Hero MotoCorp, he was the Head of Employee Relations at Larsen & Tubro where
he was responsible for designing ER Framework for the organization among many other
things. He was also the Vice President - Corporate HR for Godrej Industries.

Sir, is a Self-motivated HR Generalist Professional with experience in a variety of industries
such as electrical manufacturing, steel manufacturing, broadcasting & media, and financial
services. He also has extensive experience in leadership roles in managing a wide range of
HR functionalities.
Proficient in developing and implementing corporate strategies and automating various HR
processes, he has Hands-on experience in providing HR strategic assistance in the
establishment of new business ventures.

I would like to express my earnest gratitude to all the dignitaries present with us today in the
Valedictory Session of HR Conclave 2021.
With the termination of Pandemic period in the world, it’s become imperative to
acknowledge that we have learnt to survive with doing things in different ways and adapt as
per the need of the hour. We have to change in order to adapt to ‘New Normal’ and the same
applies to the organization as it is a fluid situation, and businesses have had to adjust and then
readjust as conditions changes.

Nikita-
It is our privilege to have, Ms. Deepti Varma, HR Leader, APACME Corporate &
Consumer - Amazon, today with us as Guest for the Valedictory Session of HR Conclave
2021.
Ms. Deepti Varma, a dynamic speaker with outstanding skills in leadership, communication,
presentation, training, team-building, and interpersonal relations.
Maam, leads Corporate HR for Amazon in APAC and the Middle East. She has been working
with Amazon for the past 10 years. Prior to Amazon, Ms. Deepti was employed as Director –
Human Resources with Dr. Reddy Laboratories heading Corporate HR and Talent
Acquisition. Before joining Dr. Reddy’s laborities,Ms Deepti led Human Resources
initiatives at organizations such as NIIT, Eternit Everest and Unitech. Over the last 23 years,
she has been associated with diverse industries such as E-Commerce, Information
Technology, Pharmaceuticals and Manufacturing Industry and has had significant global
exposure to all facets of HR and organizational effectiveness.Ms. Deepti is an active member
of multiple Women in Leadership Forum and is passionate about diversity and inclusion
where she has bootstrapped multiple innovative and scalable initiatives across different
organizations. Ma’am is also a proud alumni of the 1997 batch of Faculty of Management
Studies (FOMS), Jabalpur the forerunner of Army Institute of Management and technology.

It is indeed an honour for all of us to have Mr. Rupesh Tripathi, Partner & Head of people-
KPMG Global Services as the Guest of honour for the Valedictory Session of HR Conclave
2021.

Sir, has had over two decades of experience in HR, encompassing a broad spectrum of areas,
including Business HR, HR Strategy, Consulting, Talent Acquisition & Management,
Leadership Development & Succession Planning, Executive Coaching, M&A Integration and
Compensation & Benefits.

He has worked across a diverse range of industries, including Banking, Consulting,


Professional Services, Technology, Retail and Manufacturing. In his current role, sir is
responsible for the development and execution of KPMG Global Services’ people priorities.
In his last assignment, sir led HR for the India region of IHS Markit, an information services
firm. He also led the merger integration for India after IHS and Markit came together in 2016.

Earlier, sir has worked with Accenture, where he led the HR function for their India domestic
business and for Accenture Capability Network’s India node. He has also previously worked
with firms such as Citibank, Bharti Retail and Mercer. He began his career with Steel
Authority of India Ltd. — a stint where he found his calling in the people function.

As far has his hobbies are concerned, he is an avid marathoner and also dabbles in multiple
interests viz. Biking, Oil Painting, Photography and digital art.

Nikita - Taking the session ahead in a more fruitful direction, I take this honour to introduce
you all to our chief guest for the day , Dr. Jay Hays.
Dr. Jay Hays is an international authority in individual, team, and organisational learning,
along with recognised expertise in domains of leadership development, team-building, and
change management. He has led projects and worked with teams in nine countries spread
across four continents, and presented his research additionally at conferences and symposia in
China, Greece, Ireland, Scotland, and Turkey. With a doctorate in education and having
served in academic development and quality assurance roles, Jay is an educator’s educator,
studying and teaching pedagogy and adult learning & is also Known as a wisdom scholar.
As an academic, Professor Hays has 15+ years teaching and senior administrative experience.
He is author of two books, two research monographs, and over 60 peer-reviewed articles;
creator of numerous industry and academic innovations; and recipient of international awards
and recognition for service, teaching, and scholarship, including International Educator of the
Year.

Its said that organization has multiple pillars for its excellence, like its process, structure
, innovation etc but Human resource lies at the heart of all these pillars. So Thank you
