Would you like to know more


about how a project financial
controller analyzes the cost
structure of your project and
checks the planned budget?

If so, follow this interactive


tutorial.

1. To open the app, select


the Project Budget Report
tile.

2. To select a project, open


the input help.

3. Select the respective


project you previously
created.

For this tutorial, select


1710.O.01.

4. Choose OK.

The planning category


defaults to Plan.

For this tutorial, we do not


need to change it.

5. In the Fiscal Year field,


enter the current year and
choose Go.

For this tutorial, enter 2021.

The aggregated and non-


aggregated costs of the
selected project are
displayed. In the budget
report, you see the assigned
value (Commitment +Actual)
and available
budget (Budget-Assigned
Value) based on which you
can analyze the project.

6. Select the project.

7. Choose View Details.

All the plan, actual, and


budget costs are displayed.

In the Standard section, the


information is shown in the
Compact Filter view by
default.

You can also change it to


the Visual Filter view to get
an easy understanding of
overall costs of the project.

8. To amend the view,


choose Visual Filter.

This visual depiction helps


stakeholders to get an
overview of the project.

In the middle of the screen,


you can see the different
cost items recorded on the
project as graphical
representations, such as the
bubble chart, bar graph, or
pie chart.

9. To change the graphical


representation, choose
Selected Chart Type.

10. The different graphical


representation types display
and you can select
whichever one you prefer.

For this tutorial, select Bar


Chart.

11. Here you can view


details of the cost items.

To view the cumulative


budget in the global currency
for example, select the
corresponding orange bar.

12. Choose Details.

The details display.

You can also hover over


each bar to view the details.

13. To return to the


launchpad, choose SAP.
