Dane J. Seabolt
James Taylor Poster

I find this poster because of the

retro style in which it is colored
and textured to. The guitars
holding up the bridge is very
creative and shows emphasis
and proportion. The typestyle is
consistent and stands out
against the background very
well. The mountains in the
background are simple yet they
help the bridge stand out
against the sky.
Elton John Poster

This poster has a very

neo-modern style. The night
sky and shades of pink and navy
help to create this theme. This
image has a lot of balance
centered around the eyes. The
size of the eyes helps to slowly
bring your attention towards
the bottom where Elton’s name
is written. The lines of the city
buildings also help to draw your
attention down the image as if
you are viewing it from top to
bottom.
John Denver Poster

The black and white of this

poster truly illustrates the
meaning of the 80’s for many
people. The lines used in the
“LIVE IN CONCERT” text
draws attention to the fact that
this is a concert advertisement.
Overall, the image has a
simplistic style that is balanced
and gets the viewer the most
important information that
they need to know.
Earth Wind & Fire Poster

The contrast of this image

immediately grabs my
attention. On the left of the
figure there are blues, darker
colors and shadows as well.
Whereas on the right side there
are warm colors such as
oranges and reds. Putting the
text left aligned over the
shadow side helps it to stand
out and pop against the
background.
Bee Gees Poster

The contrast of the green and

navy along with the large serif
type style for the text, “The Bee
Gees” draws importance right
from the start. The locations
where the band members are
located creates balance. It
looks as if the member that is
sitting down is positioned
behind the poster partially. This
creates emphasis around him.
The texture of their clothing
creates realism in the poster, as
if they were standing right in
front of you.
