Documents Required for FSSAI Food license renewal of Manufacturing and

Processing Units

manufacturer with name and address, along with alternative responsible
person indicating the powers vested with them via assisting the officers in
inspections, a collection of samples, packing & dispatch.

5. Report on Analysis (Chemical & Bacteriological) of water to be used as an

ingredient in food from a recognized/ public health laboratory.
FSSAI
FSSAI License or food License
FSSAI License or food License is mandatory to operate any food business in India. Validity
of the food license is between 1-5 years; upon expiry you must renew the license or there
is a penalty if the license is not renewed. FSSAI Renewal process can be done 120 days
before the expiry date of the FSSAI Registration or License

A Registration or license granted under these Regulations shall be valid unless otherwise
specified, for a period of 1 to 5 years as chosen by the Food Business Operator, from the
date of issue of registration or license subject to remittance of fee applicable for the
period and compliance with all conditions of license.

State FSSAI License Renewal:

State FSSAI License Renewal or many people call it “FSSAI License Renewal Form B” is
applicable for all the food business operator falls under State license criteria (between 12
lakhs - 20 crore turnover). The food license renewal fees totally depend on following two
criteria

1. Kind of Food Business (Restaurant or Manufacturer or any other business).

2. Validity of License Renewal (between 1 year to 5 year).

Food License renewal government Fees can be Rs 2000 or 3000 or 5000 for one year
depending on kind of food business

Documents for FSSAI License

Essentially the FSSAI Registration/ License requires a few documents in order to verify
the ownership as well as the validity of the food business operators (FBOs). For
registering an FBO, FSSAI requires Personal Details of the Applicant as well as details of
the Food Business.

FAQ

What is the validity after renewal of food license?

Validity is for a period of 1 to 5 years as chosen by the Food Business Operator.

When Can I start renewal process of my FSSAI license?

FSSAI License renewal process can be started 120 days prior to expiry, if your license is
expiring on 30th April 2018 then you can start then renewal window opens on 1st jan
2018.

What is the penalty if license is gone beyond renewal?

Its 100 Rs per day is the late fees which you must pay by challan at the time of the
payment.

My food license is expired, what should I do?

Please apply for new license, as once the license is expired it not available in renewal
window.

How many Days are required for the renewal of the license?

Basic Registration can be renewed within 7 working days and for state license and
central license will take 30 days. However, you can continue doing business with
existing license number if you have submitted the application.
