1. Simple Present tense

Function

Expressing habits, truths, or current conditions.

Formula

2. Present Continuous

Function

Expresses events or activities that are currently taking place when discussed. It could be now, today, or
around now.

3. Present Perfect

Function

Stating events or activities that took place in the past and still have an influence or relationship with the
present.

4. Present Perfect Continuous

Function

Expresses events or activities that took place in the past and are still ongoing, have been completed, or

2. My introduction

Hi everybody

My name is Citra Amelya, you can call me Citra. I was born in the woods of the twelfth of april two
thousand and one, i live in a rich fence, i am twenty years old. And now I am a student from the
Muhammadiyah Palembang Health Center and majoring in the Palembang Health Health Center with a
bachelor's degree in nursing. My hobbies are reading novels and traveling. Currently I am gathering with
my family and waiting for my sister who is getting ready to visit my grandmother's house. (simple future
tense)

After everything was finished, my father took us as a family to Grandma's house today at 4 pm. (future
continuous tense)

finished waiting for my sister to get ready finally we went to grandma's house and will come before 6
pm because at grandma's house there will be an aqiqahan event for my nephew. (future perfect tense)

When we arrived at my grandmother's house not too many invited guests had come for my nephew's
aqiqah, because the event started at 7 tonight. (future perfect continuous tense) and there I met my
cousin and he invited me to go on vacation to Lampung if I had a semester break, because he and I had
an appointment for a semester-end vacation to Lampung with him and my other cousins. After we
finished talking, we went back to grandma's house because the aqiqah event was about to start.

South Korea Switches to Digital Textbooks in the Classroom

South Korea is planning change from paper to digital textbooks1 in the next few years. All content of
South Korea’s school subjects will be available on PC’s, iPads and mobile phones by 2015. The education
department has announced that2 South Korea is preparing for a new digital revolution3 that will change
schools of the future.

The project was started last summer4. Classrooms throughout the Asian country will be equipped with
wireless LANs so that students can access learning materials whenever and wherever they want. Pupils
won’t have to carry heavy schoolbags and satchels any more5.

South Korea is a model nation6 when it comes to using modern technology7. The OECD found out that
youngsters8 in South Korea lead the world when it comes to getting information from the internet and
working with computers9. The country focuses on teaching children the basics of technology at a very
early age10.

Compared to South Korea, western nations lag behind. American president Barack Obama has
announced11 that United States is installing a national learning centre12 which is to improve teaching
standards and develop new teaching methods.
