A NOTE FOR THE
STUDENTS
Dear Students,
N
ational Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET UG) is a national level sole
entrance test for admission to Medical courses in India. It is conducted
by the National Testing Agency (NTA) once every year. Every year
more than 15 lakhs of students appear in this exam, making it one of the most
competitive examinations of the country. If you want to crack this exam, you
will need a smart strategy apart from just studying hard. Careers360 analysed
previous 5 years’ official question papers of NEET and observed some wonder-
ful and highly useful insights for students. A total of 920 questions (230 each
from Physics, Chemistry and 460 from Biology) were analysed in a chapter wise
and concept wise manner. In this analysis, the trend of NEET was observed and
most repeated chapters/concepts were found. This will help you to strategize
your preparation. With the help of important chapters and concepts, you can
utilise your final days of preparation and revision strategy as well.
In this ebook we have provided the important (most repeated) concepts of last
5 years’ papers which are divided in chapter wise manner. Along with the name
of concepts, the study link is also mentioned. Upon clicking on the study link
you will be redirected to the respective concept text. This concept text is writ-
ten by Subject matter experts. Along with this, you will also be getting questions
related to the respective concepts for practising.
Let’s see the chapter wise summary of each subject one by one.
2
1. PHYSICS
As per the analysis, the maximum number of the questions were asked from Optics, Electronic devices, Properties of
bulk matter and Current Electricity. Also we can observe that more than 33% of the questions were asked from these
four chapters.
Also, we have analysed that few concepts are regularly asked in the Physics section and covers maximum probability to
be asked every year. Let us check the list of those concepts -
• Logic Gates
• Conservation of angular momentum
• Resistance and Resistivity
• Torque
• Young’s double slit experiment
• Adiabatic process
• De-broglie wavelength of an electron
• Earth’s magnetism
• Electric potential due to continuous charge distribution
• Energy level for Hydrogen
3
2. CHEMISTRY
As per the analysis, the maximum number of the questions were asked from Some p-Block elements, Chemical bonding
and molecular structure, Aldehydes, Ketones and Carboxylic Acids and Coordination compounds. Also we can observe
that almost 27% of the questions were asked from these four chapters.
Coordination compounds: 12
Equilibrium 12
Hydrocarbons 12
Thermodynamics 12
Chemical kinetics 10
Electrochemistry 10
Biomolecules 9
Structure of Atom 9
Solutions 7
Solid state 6
Redox Reactions 5
Surface Chemistry 5
Chemistry in Everyday Life 4
Environmental Chemistry 4
Polymers 4
Hydrogen 3
3. BIOLOGY
As Biology is the major section in the NEET, so this section should be much more focussed. As per the analysis, these
three chapters - Human Physiology, Genetics and Evolution and Cell Structure and Function covers more than 37% of
the questions. Let us check the list of the chapters and the number of questions asked from that -
Plant Physiology 37
Reproduction 35
Also, as per the analysis, few concepts are repeatedly asked in the Biology section and cover the maximum probability to
be asked every year. Let us check the list of those concepts -

• Cell Cycle: Interphase
• Stages of Meiosis I - Prophase I
• Polymerase Chain Reaction
• The Nucleus
• Endosperm Development
• Events of Fertilisation
• Semi-autonomous Organelles: Mitochondria
• Agents of Pollination: Abiotic Agents
• Algae and their characteristics
• Competent Host (For Transformation with Recombinant DNA)
Above mentioned analysis was the summary of the complete analysis. All Subject wise and chapter wise concepts are
mentioned below. Read each of them thoroughly from the provided link. Structure your preparation around them and
get maximum benefit from these.
