Choose one procedure that you plan to teach in your classroom and develop a delivery plan

modeled after the one shown above.  Be sure to include the following:

Rationale- Why is the management procedure important? It is important because Some kids
finish tasks quicker than others. Having a list of early finisher activities ready will keep those
kids from distracting the ones who are still working.

Modeling-How will we all follow and do this procedure? I will model the procedure first after
explaining it an then I will have the students practice it until they can do it effectively.

Practice and checking for understanding- Explain how you ensure they know it and can do it.

I will check for understanding by asking questions and observing them will they practice the
procedures.

Anticipatory Set and Rationale:

Teacher: How do you keep yourself from distracting your classmates when you finish your assignments
early?

Sample Student Response: Talk with my friends, put my head down and go to sleep, be bored, read a
book, draw.

Teacher: The way you keep from distracting your classmates when you are finished doing your
assignment is by doing an early finisher activity. When you do your early finisher activity of choice
quietly you give your classmates respect and keep them from being distracted while they create.
Teacher Input: (State the procedure)

Teacher: So, when you are finished with your assignment early you will quietly go to the early finisher
activity corner and pick one to do. You will pick one the following activities without distracting others.
There is how-to-draw books, the art room library, or art-related games such as playdough and Legos.
Guided Practice and Modeling

Teacher: I am going to show you how to get up and walk to the early finisher activity corner and quietly
select an activity. After I quietly select my activity, I walk back to my seat and work on it until its time to
clean up.
Check For Understanding: [Teacher asks some clarifying questions]
Teacher: When I finish my assignment early what do you do first?

Sample Student Response: quietly get up and walk to the early finisher activity corner.

Teacher: Great!! How long should you work on this activity?

Sample Student Response: until its clean up time.

Teacher: Wonderful! How many activities do you choose?

Sample Student Response: 1

Teacher: You guys are doing great! Tell me again, what should you do as you are picking your activity?

Sample Student Response: pick quietly and walk back to my seat.

Teacher: It's day one of school and you guys are already amazing! Are you talking to other students when
they are creating their art?

Sample Student Response: No, we just do our early finisher activity until its time to clean up.
Independent Practice and Feedback:

Teacher: Phenomenal! Now I am going to give you a chance to show me how well you can do this. In
just a second (but not yet), I am going to ask you table by table to walk quietly to the early finisher
activity corner and pick on out and then quietly return to your seat. When I call your table show me how
you will do this. I know you guys have got this! All right, red table. Then I give feedback on all aspects
of the procedure. Did they stand up quietly? Did they walk? Did they talk to other students? Did they play
with the Legos at the center instead of their seat? I will positively affirm in addition to giving any
corrective feedback. I will notice students who are doing what I asked them to do and positively affirm
them.
