1.1) Solve the following system of linear equations by Matrix Inversion Method. (5)
3x − 2y + z = 1
5x + 6y + 2z = 2
x − 3z = 3
1.2) Define Diagonal matrix and find a matrix ‘A’ of order 3x5 in which elements are of the
following form: (5)

 i 2 − 2 j − 2; i = j

aij =  −2 j 2 + ij; i < j
 2 + 3(i − j ); i > j

1.3) A manager plans to produce 200 units with the help of 50 persons working 8 hours daily.
How many units can be made by 80 persons if they work 6 hours daily? (2)
1.4) Usman and Zaid realized that their ages are consecutive odd integers. The product of their
ages is 195. Usman is younger than Zaid. Determine their ages. (2)
1.5) A shopkeeper buys 125 dozen of eggs at Rs. 70 per dozen. He sells 900 eggs at Rs. 80 per
dozen and the rest at Rs. 85 per dozen. Find the percentage gain. (2)
1.6) The 5% sales tax on a basket was Rs. 0.70. What was the price of the basket? (2)
