CHAPTER THREE
MAINTENANCE

3.1 GENERAL MAINTENANCE INSTRUCTIONS

Engine and transmission fluids and lubricants should be checked before and after each
operation. Refill or replace as necessary. Visually inspect all fittings and hoses before
and after each operation. Tighten any loose fittings, and replace any worn hoses as
necessary. This will ensure the longevity and dependability of the pumping unit.

3.1.1 FLUID CAPACITIES

Capacities are approximate based on manufacturer’s data. Capacities on individual units
may vary due to custom changes.

Capacity

Injector Motor Gearboxes 1-1.5 ** 3.8 - 5.7 **

Load Cell Hand Pump .35 (1.4 qt) 1.3

** - Fill to bottom of fill hole. Individual units may vary slightly.

3.1.2 FLUID CHANGE INTERVALS

Filters should always be changed with the fluids they protect to ensure long equipment
life and dependability.

Fluid Type Fluid Change Interval

Hydraulic Fluid 250 Hours

Due to excessive wear during initial break-in, all fluids should be

changed at 50 hours, then follow the recommendations on the pre-
vious page.

3.1.3 RECOMMENDED FLUIDS AND LUBRICANTS

Overfilling or underfilling engines, pumps, etc., can cause serious

damage to machinery. Always check for proper fluid levels before
operating equipment.

Use only the specified fluids. Failure to do so can void warranties

and/or cause damage to the equipment.

The following charts are to be used as a quick-reference only. For more detailed information,
consult the vendors’ literature for the appropriate component.

“ Always drain oil while the unit is still warm.

“ Dispose of used oil and other fluids according to local regulations.
“ Clean all magnetic plugs before replacing.
“ Change oils whenever they show signs of dirt, moisture, or discoloration.
