South Jefferson Central School Announces

Class of 2022 Honor Graduates

Valedictorian Salutatorian Vo-Tech Honor Graduate

Mrs. Shannon VanCoughnett, Principal of South Jefferson Central High School, has announced the Honor
Graduates for the Class of 2022. Honor Graduate designation signifies that a student has attained a
cumulative high school average of 90 or better. Fifty-one members in the Class of 2022 have earned this
distinction:

Jaan P. Brooks, Valedictorian, son of Kimberly Brooks and Peter Brooks, Adams, NY, will be graduating with
a grade point average of 98.92 and has earned the honor of Valedictorian. He will graduate with a Regents
Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors and Mastery in Math and Science. Jaan is a member of the
National Honor Society, Vice President of the Class of 2022, a member of the Varsity Lacrosse team and the
Chess club. Jaan will be attending Colgate University, majoring in Biochemistry.

Gracie A. Elliott, Salutatorian, daughter of Julie Elliott, Adams, NY and Wade Elliott, Adams, NY will be
graduating with a grade point average of 98.51 and has earned the honor of Salutatorian. She will graduate
with a Regents Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors and Mastery in Math and Science. Gracie is a
member of the National Honor Society, Spanish Club, Cross Country and Indoor Track and Field team, Jazz
Band, Wind Ensemble, and co-founder of the Adams Community Club. Gracie has also earned the Seal of
Bi-Literacy. Gracie will be attending Clarkson University, majoring in Liberal Arts.

Rachel S. Place, Vocational Technical Honor Graduate, daughter of Michelle Place, Adams Center, NY will
be graduating from the Medical Assistant program at the Bohlen Technical Center with a grade point average
of 95.75 and has earned the honor of Vocational Technical Honor Graduate. She will graduate with a Regents
Diploma with Advanced Designation with Honors and Mastery in Math and Science. Rachel is a member of the
National Technical Honor Society and a member of the Swimming and Diving team here at South Jefferson.
Rachel will be be attendinging Jefferson Community College, majoring in Allied Health Pre-Nursing.

Julia K. Largett, daughter of John and Tracy Largett, Adams, NY. Julia will be attending the University of
Rochester, majoring in Physics.

Michael J. Jareo, son of Alana and Francis Jareo, Adams Center, NY. Michael will be attending the University
of Rochester, majoring in Neuroscience.

Katherine R. Banazek, daughter of Jennifer and Phillip Banazek, Watertown, NY. Katherine will be attending
the University of Virginia, majoring in Liberal Arts.

Kolin M. Kriner, son of Cassaundra Kriner and Randolph Deom, Adams, NY and Phillip Kriner, Worth, NY.
Kolin will be attending SUNY Plattsburgh, majoring in Biomedical Sciences and Theater.

Emma R. Purvis, daughter of Travis and Chrissy Purvis, Adams, NY. Emma will be attending SUNY Brockport,
majoring in Biology.

Carley A. Hughes, daughter of Randy and Carol Hughes, Watertown, NY. Carley will be attending SUNY
Brockport, majoring in Nursing.

Jacqueline R. Piddock, daughter of Bob and Kathy Piddock, Adams, NY. Jacqueline will be attending Marist
College, majoring in General Biology.

Trevor J. Benware, son of John and Terri Benware, Mannsville, NY. Trevor will be attending Rochester
Institute of Technology, majoring in Materials Science.
Alayna M. Bush, daughter of Gary and Janelle Bush, Adams, NY. Alayna will be attending Le Moyne College,
majoring in Biology.

Abagail P. Keeney, daughter of Ian and Jennifer Keeney, Rodman, NY. Abagail will be attending Jefferson
Community College, majoring in Nursing.

Julia M. Garvin, daughter of Gerald and Tricia Garvin, Adams Center, NY. Julia will be attending Wingate
University, majoring in Finance.

Sidney E. Wheeler III, son of Jessica and Roderick Mooney, Lorraine, NY. Sidney will be attending University
at Albany, majoring in Political Science.

Jonathan R. Babcock, son of John and Schreene Babcock, Sackets Harbor, NY. Jonathan will be attending
St. John Fisher, majoring in Accounting.

William M. Littell, son of Patricia and Lawrence Littell, Adams Center, NY. William will be attending Wesleyan
University, majoring in Film.

Charles H. Rogers, son of Tina and Steven Rogers, Adams, NY. Charles will be attending Jefferson
Community College, majoring in Engineering.

Zachary D. Sullivan, son of Brian and Maureen Ann Sullivan, Adams, NY. Zachary will be attending University
of Southern California, majoring in Media Arts and Practices.

Hailyn S. Buker, daughter of Stephanie and Jason Buker, Adams Center, NY. Hailyn will be attending Clarkson
University, majoring in Environmental Engineering.

Annika L. VanWormer, daughter of Carla and Jerry VanWormer, Mannsville, NY. Annika will be attending
Jefferson Community College, majoring in Chemical Engineering.

attending SUNY Binghamton, majoring in Biological Sciences.

Tanner M. Weiler, son of George Weiler, Adams, NY and Amy Rae Hayes, Watertown, NY. Tanner will be
attending Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, majoring in Physics.
