Instrucción: Lee cuidadosamente la biografía de la famosa pintora Frida

Kahlo, y contesta las preguntas.

Read carefully the FridaꞋs biography of the famous painter and then answer the
questions.

Frida Kahlo, the famous painter was born in Coyoacan,

Mexico city in 1907; she was the daugther of a Jewish-
German immigrant photographer and a catholic
Mexican mother, she was only eighteen years old and
studying at Preparatory School when she had an
accident, a bus crash, that left her a partial invalid for
life and made it impossible for her to have children.
While she was recovering from the accident, she began
to paint, three years later, she took some paintings to
muralist Diego Rivera whom she admired, “you have
talent;” Rivera said,” continue painting”.
Frida took his advice and kept on working. A year later (1929), they were married.
Frida produced around two hundred paintings between 1926, when she began painting, and
1954, the year she died. Her suffering is reflected in them, but they also show her love for Diego
Rivera and for life, her passion for popular art and they assert Frida Kahlo’s Mexican identity.
