Brain:

outer duramatter.

Middle arachnoid

Inner piamatter.
Brain comprises of 1400 gms of weight or 2% of the body weight.

Study of the shape and size of the cranium as a supposed indicator of

character and mental abilities.

phrenology
Cerebrum:

It is the largest part of the brain with 900 grams.

Two hemispheres are connected by corpus callosum.

Gyri is the folds of the surface of the hemispheres.

Left cerebrum regulates right side body parts and performs the tasks
like logic, such as science and maths.

Right performs tasks with creativity and the arts.

Diencephalon:it is made upon 4 main components.

The thalamus.

Sub thalamus.

Hypothalamus

Epithalamus
Hypothalamus:

A region of fore brain located below the thalamus ,forming the basal
part of the diencephalon.
Mid brain:connects the pons and cerebellum with the fore brain.

It is about 0.8 inches in length.

It consists of medulla oblongata, pons, mid brain towards spinal cord.

Eeg:electro encephalography.

to check the passage of the brain waves.

Hind brain consists of cerebellum and medulla oblongata.

Cerebellum:latin word which means little brain.

It is a region of brain that plays an imp role in motor control.

It is located at the back of the brain and it is divided into two

hemispheres.
Outer grey matter and inner white matter.

Regulates coordinated movements .

Sub conscious adjustment of body in different muscle relation to

position.
Different balanced movements of body in relation to different body
parts.

Linear motion,angular acceleration and gravity.

Control of ballistic movements.

Medulla oblongata:

it is the part of the brain stem between the pons and spinal cord.

It extends through the foramen magnum to the level of atlas(1st

cervical vertebra)

Cerebro spinal fluid encircles the medulla oblongata.

It is between the two lobes of cerebellum.

Outer white and inner grey matter.

It helps to regulate digestion, sneezing and swallowing.

It is the part of the brain is a centre

Spinal cord:

It is a long cylinder of neutrons that runs from the base of brain.

It is the part of CNS along with brain.

45 cms in length and 2 cms in diameter.

Electrical communication, electrical signals are conducted up and
down the cord, allowing communication between different sections
of the body and with the brain.

Outer white matter and inner grey matter .

There are 31 pairs of spinal nerves.

Dorsal root ganglion sensory information.

Ventral root ganglion motor neuron information
