Compliance to the Academic Calendar of KTU -Verify commencement of the semester, course
registration and enrolment dates, dates of internal tests, dates of final test of practical courses, date
of publishing of internal evaluation marks, schedule of summer courses etc. by cross checking with
college academic calendar & course diary
Schedule of Time Table - Time table shall be evaluated considering the following features. (i)
Theory courses shall be of maximum 1 hour duration ( 50 minutes is the most preferred). (ii)
Practical, drawing, tutorial, seminar & projects classes shall be scheduled in the AN session as far
as possible (iii) time allotted for all courses including remedial/bridge courses, student activities
shall satisfy the curriculum requirements.

Subject coverage as per course plan - verify with the course diary
Use of ICT enabled teaching and Digital courses- Course diary & Student feed back
Learning materials and software available for student learning - Learning materials include
charts, models, course notes etc.-can be assessed from student feed back, software log register etc.
Quality, coverage etc. of question papers of internal exam - Scrutiny of question papers,
distribution of marks scored by the students
Evaluation of internal exams - Assessment can be done based on the following (i) punctuality of
valuation (ii) student feed back (iii) sample answer sheets
Conduct of Practical classes - Cousre diary, course file, log book of equipment, work record of
students etc. assessment can be done based on number students in a batch, time given for doing the
experiment, lab facility, evaluation etc.
Evaluation of students performance in practical classes - Course diary, work record, question
paper for written test and sample answer books etc.
Conduct of seminar classes - Course diary, evaluation sheet, seminar reports etc.
Quality & Progress of projects - Course diary, project review records, outcome of projects such as
papers published, patents, awards etc.
Conduct of Re-tests - File for re-tests containing requests from the students, approval, notification,
sample question papers, marks awarded etc.
Performance of students in Internal exams - can be assessed based on pass %, marks obtained
etc.
Maintenance of course diary - Examine course diary for all necessary details
Maintencnce of course file - Examine course file for all necessary details
Performance of students in the previous semester - Can be assessed based on the results. Pass %
of 90 and above can be graded as excellent, 75 - 89 can be grarded as Good, 50 - 74 can be graded
as Fair, 25-49 as Poor and 0-24 as Very Poor
Eligibilty for promotion to higher semesters at the end of even semesters - Can be assessed
based on % of discontinued students due to eligibilty criteria. 0% - Excellent , less than 2% -
Good, less than 5% but more than 2% - Fair, less than 10% but more than 5% - Poor, more than
10% - Very Poor
Faculty evaluation by students - Can be assessed based on the following (i) No of feed backs
taken in a semester. ( 3 feed backs will be better - 1st after one month of class, 2nd after mid
semester and 3rd after termination of class ) (ii) % of students participated (iii) corrective actions
taken for improving teaching effectiveness (iv) mode & criteria for evaluation
Conduct of expert talks, industry interaction, extra mural lectures etc. for students -
Attendance record/Photographs/Video etc.
Functioning of students' grievances and appeal committee - Minutes of meetings & action
taken report
Functioning of Academic Discipline & Welfare committee - Minutes of meetings & action taken
report
