Final idea outline

My final idea is a fantasy short film based around a girl getting lost in the woods and meeting
weird and wonderful creatures on the way. The narrative will be split up into 3 sections with
the beginning starting with establishing the setting, the middle establishing the characters and
the ending resolving the conflict. As the story goes along the girl will also slowly start to
become part of the woods, turning into a flower. Until the end where she can’t escape and
becomes a flower.
Rules and regulations
All criteria
> must be met (outlines in the following pages) for you to pass
>You will work on the re-submissions after each section and NOT at the end. As soon as a section is
completed, there will be no going back to it.
>Although all teachers are guiding you, you must always go to your ‘marking teacher’
for written feedback (all teachers can guide and feedback verbally during lessons however)
>For you to gain the highest grade possible you will be required to work outside your 12 lessons and
be in on Thursdays.
>Resubmissions for each section may be done on Thursdays
>Group work is permitted but only in groups no larger than 2 (with extra rules for groups)
>A deadline is a deadline
>you are marked on your professionalism so late submissions will go against your grade
>You will sign ‘Hand in’ forms so, we can track who has kept to each deadline
>You will be required to sign a letter of authenticity (To state all work is your own)
>There can be no extensions as this work is submitted to the exam board and if it is not there on
deadline day, they will fail it
>If you are filming off campus, the marking teacher must approve BEFORE you are allowed to go,
and the filming days must match your production schedule.
>Actors must be part of the course or have signed a declaration to say they will be at the filming
location
> ‘No show actors’ will not be allowed as an excuse

Target audience
For my target audience I’m aiming to appeal to ages 15-30. Catering to a teenage and young adult
audience is better for my production because fantasy films often appeal to that age group. I also
wanted to make my production an Alice in Wonderland type story for young adults and teens
therefore making them the perfect target audience.
Legal and Ethical issues
The moral to my short film will be the classic moral of stranger danger with a twist. I will approach
this by hiding the moral slightly to not make it as in your face. I think this issues that could be faced
with this is not making the way it portrayed insensitive. The moral ending will be to not trust
strangers because it doesn’t lead to good things.
The only example of copyright that may be present is copyrighted music. There shouldn’t be a chance
of my production offending people since I won’t be inputting offensive material.
