Broad Updates
 We are doing good work and other institutions are following our lead on a number of our
decisions/communication strategies
 Some IUC institutions have stopped/suspended testing
 Discussion from a couple IUC schools on vaccinations for new employees
 BA.2 – not hearing that it has appeared here; assuming yes and we are prepared to
respond
 Hearing some things from international students about significant costs for airline tickets
to enter the US

Surveillance testing
 Continue testing at this point
 Participation is still low; we could potentially increase our sample size if needed
 Continue to offer surveillance testing and revisit later
At-Home tests
 Continue to have a good supply of at-home tests – no additional distribution required
 Proctored at-home tests have expired – after having two extensions; Steve has reached
out to the state to inquire about another extension – waiting to hear
 Expired tests have implications for students who need to take a proctored test to leave
isolation on Day 6 with a negative result
o Discussed several options and decided to shift our approach to have students
upload a picture of a negative test card - we continue to modify our practices
based on the current situation
o All templates will be edited to reflect this change; evaluate website to determine if
changes need to made as well
o Need to remove expired tests from the isolation spaces

Tracing and Q/I

 See notes under “at-home tests” section regarding changes to isolation testing
 Contact tracing through Miami will end on May 13; Butler County will continue tracing
through PCG; may need to update language on the website and letters as well when this
change occurs
 Plan to move away from offering isolation/quarantine spaces for the fall
 Utilize the tool provided by the CDC (referenced in the agenda) for guidance on when
and how long to quarantine or isolate

Masks
 No updates today

Vaccines
 Requests from some admitted students to have an exemption for the vaccine prior to
committing; developed a form for a pre-enrollment exemption option
 Completely revamped the immunization recording process for all types of immunizations,
anticipated beginning April 1
 Fourth dose/ 2nd booster has just been approved; SHS is working on documenting
additional dose
 Discussion about clinics at Armstrong – determined to discontinue vaccinations at
Armstrong after April 8; people can seek a vaccination at the clinic or other locations;
communicate this week in the weekly message

Communication
 First weekly message for Friday will happen this week
