Client site – Engineer installation work

1. Locate and unbox equipment
2. Inventory check and DOA testing
3. If circuits are currently not yet terminated into the rack, BT engineer will need to assist Visa in working with the
client to locate the circuits.
4. BT engineer is to ensure Visa devices are connected to diverse power source (assuming diverse power supplies
are available at the client site).
a. Router A’s power source should be on the same PDU as modem/NTU for WAN circuit A/EAS-A
b. Router B’s power source should be on the same PDU as modem/NTU for WAN circuit B/EAS-B  (but
separate source as set-A’s)
5. Join Visa change bridge call and perform actions directed by Visa
- Rack equipment (de-rack any old equipment if applicable)
- Cable up as per diagram
- Box up any old equipment

Remain on site (until released) in case Visa need additional hands and eyes support – the engineer should not leave the
client site until both the Client and Visa have confirmed they are satisfied that all work has been completed

In the event that Visa is unable to remotely access any of the new routers, BT engineer will need to console into the
routers and allow Visa to remotely control their access to check for any errors.

BT should be prepared for Visa to query the actions of any on site engineer if an installation should be problematic

Client site – Engineer decommission work

1. Join Visa change bridge call and perform actions directed by Visa
- Remove cabling
- de-rack any old equipment
- Box up any old equipment
- Remain on site (until released) in case Visa need additional hands and eyes support
BT should be prepared for Visa to query the actions of any on site engineer if an installation should be problematic

For any devices which require destruction (such as old generation routers) – BT should provide a certificate of
destruction for the asset concerned.

Some regions rely on the client to perform decommission work – so in these cases, BT’s role is simply to organize a
courier to collect devices from site.
