consolidate, clarify, or prove the written material they go with.

Graphs help students organize and analyze information in well-structured formats, making it
easier to interpret data.

learning.

• Convey message easily, understood mater at glance.

 Make an instant appeal.

A great example is an educational poster in the format of an

infographic.

 An infographic is a collection of imagery, charts, and

minimal text that gives an easy-to-understand overview of
a topic.

Maps:
A diagrammatic representation of an area of land or sea showing physical features, cities, roads,
etc.

Use in Islamic education:

For the study of geography and cartography in the Muslim world during the Islamic Golden Age.

Muslim scholars made advances to the map-making traditions of earlier cultures.

Cartoons:

A cartoon is humorous caricature which gives a subtle message. It makes learning more
interesting and effective.

We live in a world where children are constantly exposed to the media. It’s impossible for our
children not to get influenced by what they see. Media is a double-edged sword.

Use in Islamic education:

We can use cartoons with an Islamic theme, intended to teach kids something regarding Islam.
The result of these shows and videos is to help children gain Islamic knowledge through media.
It could be stories of Prophets or to learn some duas.

Flashcards:

New Muslims struggle to learn the essentials of their religion, for example, the pillars of Islam
and the Names of Allah, and this can be overwhelming especially to a beginner to Islam.

Use In Islamic Studies:

We can use flashcards to memorize vocabulary (in Arabic language) , historical dates, ayats etc.
Moreover, we can use flashcards to complete Islamic stories.

Pictures and photographs:

It is important for students to be able to use images as a tool to advance their own knowledge and
achievement. In this capacity, students are able to think abstractly about complex ideas and
information, transforming the curriculum into more of a narrative they can absorb through
creative imagery.

Use In Islamic Studies:

Used appropriately and sequentially, pictures can not only illustrate a topic but also can provide
the experience base children require in order to profit from reading and writing and from
numerous other learning experiences, including those associated with art programming. Pictures
are most commonly available graphic aids. Pictures include photographs, paintings, illustrations
clipped from magazines, newspapers, etc. A series of pictures related to a lesson can be
displayed in the classroom to arouse the curiosity and interest before lesson begins on the topic.

Charts:

Charts are graphic teaching material including diagrams, posters, pictures, maps and graphs.

Use in Islamic studies:

We can make Islamic posters to help students in learning Islam. For example: we can make “I AM A
MUSLIM” chart to help students learn more about basics of Islam.
