Multimodal Found Poetry Unit, In-class Essay

To complete our Multimodal Found Poetry Unit, we will write an in-class essay. Your task is to analyze and
interpret and reflect on one of your fellow student’s finished projects, which are now hanging around the
room. Use the thinking strategies we developed throughout this unit to draw out the components of the work
you are writing about, explain how those components work together to create their overall effect on the
reader/viewer, and use your awareness about the process of creating this found poem and accompanying
photograph (since you have experience making a similar project, yourself) to comment on the flexibility of
language and the accompanying power of images. NOTE: This rubric describes qualitative grade ranges, with
+'s and -'s as implied gradations within and between the ranges.
