Meet these teenagers, who all like sports.

Isabelle
I do gymnastics with a local team in Leeds. We practise three times a week
and on Saturdays we often practise all day. Every practice starts at 8 o’clock
in the morning. Last year, I hurt my leg so I couldn’t train for a month. We
have to be careful about what we eat, so we can’t eat too much ice cream
or cakes. We’ve won three competitions in the last year and we’re going to
Germany next month

Liam
I started playing badminton when I was about five years old and I joined
Crawley Badminton Club when I was 10. I play every day except around my
exams when I have to study more. I practise in the evenings until about 8
pm. I broke my arm last year but it was my other arm, so I could still play! My
coach says I can eat anything I want – especially rice and spaghetti. I’ve won
a lot of competitions and my bedroom is full of cups!

Hannah
I’m on a hockey team called the Bears. We train twice a week after school
and then we usually have a match on Sunday morning. If we don’t play at
home, we have to get up very early to take a bus. I always wear special
glasses because the ball might hit me in the head. I eat lots of fruit like
bananas. We play against teams around the country but we always lose –
we’re not very good really!
