After approving your Qualification and Approval Guide (QAG), a representative of the Administrator conducted a functionality test and evaluation of this device on January 25, 2012. The FTS Touch Trainer V1.1 SR-20/22 is approved for use in satisfying the Tasks/Maneuvers and Procedures under the following sections of Title 14 of the Code of Federal Regulations parts 61 and 141: FTS Touch Trainer V1.1 SR-20/22 Basic Aviation Training Device Non-Complex Single Engine Land Section 61.51(b)(3) - Logged Flight Experience Section 61.57(¢(2) = Instrument Experience Section 61.65(1)(2) - Instrument Rating: Not more than 10 hours Section 61.109(k)(1) Private Pilot Certificate: Not more than 2.5 hours in the introduction to the operation of flight instruments Section 141.41(b) > Appendix C to 14 CFR part 141: Within an FAA approved instrument rating course, but not more than 10 hours: Section 141.57 - Approved for use to the extent as allowed within FAA-approved special training curricula ipproval is contingent upon the following: (1) This device, when in use, continues to maintain its performance, function, and other characteristics without degradation, to ensure its ability to adequately perform the listed tasks/maneuvers or procedures; (2) A copy of this authorization and approval must be posted in a location near the device when in use so as to be readily visible to the users when operated as, authorized; (3) An authorized instructor must provide and certify the above instruction if used for certification or for a Instrument Proficiency Check; (4) Any changes or modifications to this device which have not been reviewed, evaluated, and approved by AFS-800 will cause FAA"s approval to become null and void; and (5) ‘The FAA reserves the right to revoke this authorization at any time if the Administrator determines that this training device is used contrary to FAA regulation or safety. itial certification will be valid for sixty (60) calendar months.
