Plagiary is the enemy of academic excellence: Agree or disagree?

Plagiarized work is the use of someone else's thoughts, words, work, production, ideas, and even research
without their permission or acknowledgment, and claiming that it is one's own work. Various forms of
plagiarism exist, including academic dishonesty, digital fraud, and academic misconduct. Plagiarism is
considered an unacceptable legal act and a violation of institutional regulations. It is important that schools,
universities, and instructors learn how to use digital technology to enhance academic writing in order to
decrease plagiarism.

There can be confusion among students about what constitutes plagiarism and what does not. Students
should ask their instructors about any grey areas they may have regarding plagiarism. Plagiarism can lead to
for failure in a course and institutions should take strict actions against such activity which can downgrade the
performance of students as well as the reputation of institution itself.

It is important to remember that standards rise as you progress through your education. Being a student, you
are expected to have your own ideas and present them to your college. In addition, you should be capable of
reading information and explaining it in your own words, as your level of understanding is not properly
displayed when you copy material for your assignments. Plagiarism checkers are used by many institutions to
check for plagiarism, as well as to mark and provide feedback to students. The tool detects borrowed content
and provides instructors with assistance. Checkers not only provide grammar tips, but they also provide
plagiarism checks. They also check for originality. Plagiarism should never be excused on grounds of ignorance
or inadvertence. You must cite your sources and present your argument.

Plagiarism occurs when someone lacks self-confidence or is ignorant of the rules. Occasionally even good
students will plagiarize due to last-minute panic, for example, while handing in similar papers while
collaborating with others on an assignment.

Students' self-esteem is negatively affected by the culture of googling. In most assignments, students start by
reading what other people have to say rather than thinking for themselves. We have to encourage students to
believe in themselves, to trust their ability to think independently. Otherwise, plagiarism won't be handled
properly.

To eliminate plagiarism from institutions, teachers should ask students to give a brief report on what they
wrote in exams or assignments. Students who truly researched and wrote it on their own will have no problem
since they have put efforts for assignments and exams.
