What I have learned

Learning from Experience
List down at least five life lessons you learned from home or community which
you can use to improve your academic performance.

1. A Growth Mindset - A growth mindset is a concept that everyone can

learn anything given enough time and energy.

2. Connecting with Classmates and Instructors - Connecting with classmates

and teachers can improve academic performance by allowing students
(and even teachers) to learn from one another, share issues and concerns,
and work together to overcome them.

3. Being Organized - In high school, we can study up to 10 different subjects

with ten different teachers and ten different expectations. We can't thrive
in those conditions unless we're really well structured. Organization,
fortunately, is a skill that can be mastered. We can also use diaries,
calendars, and study schedules as tools.

4. Consistency and Persistence - Learning happens over time and in a

consistent manner. Consider what it was like to learn to read for the first
time. There were phases, from holding a book correctly to recognizing
letters to phonetics, years of effort, and finally fluency, there were steps.

5. Setting Goals - Setting goals helps us focus our attention away from
distractions and certain behaviors and information. We are more likely to
succeed if we break down major goals into small portions. Small triumphs
will eventually result in bigger ones if we can incorporate the feedback we
receive regularly.
