Participate in a debate at the Group Forum

Forums are tools that allow communication between students and teachers through
public messages. Since they are public communication tools, any campus user with
access to the forum may view and respond to messages, with all that this entails. For this
reason, the members in this community are requested to maintain a cordial and
respectful interaction.

Within the Teachers Education programs, forums play an important role in the
management of academic communication. There are different types of forums
depending on their purpose and uses. Each forum is described below:

- The Subject Forum has a dual purpose:

1) Firstly, it is the space that the professor of each subject uses to communicate with all
the students who are enrolled in the subject in that moment. Through the forum, the
teacher sends the schedule for the subject and provides general academic information
related to it. The student may raise questions in this forum, but always respecting the
chain of messages initiated by the teacher. The student should contact the teacher by
email if he/ she wants to make inquiries or contributions about issues which have not
been raised by the teacher. At that time, the teacher will decide whether or not it is
appropriate to forward the inquiry or contribution to the forum in order to share it with
other students.

2) Secondly, the Subject Forum was also created to organize the academic group
activities of the course subjects (i.e. debates, case analysis), which are pre-programmed
by the professor.

- The Group forum is another important tool to have in mind. The use of this forum is
limited exclusively to the students belonging to the same group. The purpose of this
forum is to provide general information on the program, such as the messages for the
Virtual Campus tutorials or communications on the Final Project deliveries, among others.

- The Questions and Answers forum was created solely to allow students to raise
questions about course content and teachers to answer to those questions. Thus,
messages are saved and can be accessed by students anytime. To participate in these
forums, students should follow the instructions to the letter. Also, before making an
inquiry, the student should make sure that it has not been previously raised or answered.
A forum of this type is available for each subject of the course.

- The forum Who is who? is only used to introduce yourself to the class you belong to.
This forum is connected to the virtual campus orientation tasks.

When using these forums, students are not allowed to send personal messages or any
other type of message that do not fulfill the instructions which have been specified
above. To do this, personal mail may be used. Messages that do not comply with these
conditions will be deleted without prior notice.

It is important to bear in mind that all the tasks in relation to the virtual campus tutorials
will be developed in the Group Forum. However, when the subjects begin, all the
activities will take place in the specific forum of each subject.

Given the importance of using the Group Forum and the Subject Forum appropriately,
we encourage you to participate in the debate which has been organized by the
Tutorials Tutor in the Group Forum. To do this, please follow the steps below:

1. Return to the main page of the campus and then access the course in which you are
enrolled.

2. Afterwards, click on the icon Group Forum X.

3. Within the forum you will find a message from the Tutorials Tutor with the instructions
