【Conductivity control】
As the conductivity control system for TR-8000 “YUGA”, regulated volume of dialysate concentrate is kept in the fixed volume of chamber, and capacity control dilution
method is adopted.
In this method, the dialysate concentrate suction pump is rotated continuously, the valve opening time of concentrate A, concentrate B and water changeover valve for
those located on IN side are changed, then conductivity control is performed.

CM sends the information of concentrate A and B infusion volume against the 505 [mL] chamber to CM, which is calculated according to the set conductivity and
infusion volume correction value.
DM calculates rotation number (starting point pulse) of concentrate pump which is necessary for concentrate A and B infusion, based on the infusion volume sent from
CM plus remaining time, consequently, PLD counter of I/O is set.
After that, chamber changeover signal is received, concentrate A and B changeover valve is controlled for the time which is set by the rotation number (starting point
pulse) plus remaining time.
Water changeover valve rotates 3 times right after the chamber changeover, 3 times during concentrate A and B infusion, and operates after concentrate B infusion
completion to next chamber changeover.

Remaining time control for the starting point pulse + remaining time
One rotation time of concentrate pump is 167 [ms].
The operation during this one rotation is infusion operation for a first half from the detection of starting point and for the send-out half for the drain operation.
Theoretically, though, 50 [%] from the starting point is the infusion operation, infusion volume seems to be changed 67% (112 [mS]) from the starting point in the actual
measurement, therefore, the control is performed as 67 [%] of 1 rotation is recognized to be effective.
Example: Concentrate A infusion volume 14.55 [mL], 14.55/0.32 = 45 rotation and 0.15 [mL], 0.15/0.32×167×0.67=52 [mS] 45 rotation and 52mS, Open concentrate
A changeover valve.

【Conductivity alarm】
Conductivity alarm monitoring system monitors upper and lower limit setting against the conductivity standard value set at the initial settings.
Conductivity value of bicarbonate and conductivity step2 should be registered beforehand in the system as the standard conductivity value.
MM P.C.B. performs alarm monitoring by setting upper and lower limits for maximum of ±5 [%] against the conductivity standard value.
When conductivity step is corrected, conductivity upper and lower limit setting is calculated by adding or subtracting 0.3 [mS/cm] per step 1against the conductivity
standard value

【Temperature control】
Temperature setting value which is set on the operation panel is sent to DM from CM. DM detects temperature at the heater outlet port by the temperature control
sensor (212),amplify analogue signal at ADC, and read the value from CPLD after the digital conversion, and calculate the time for “heater on” (MV calculation value)
from this measurement value and temperature setting value, so heater control is carried out by controlling ON/OFF of SSR.
The temperature of the dialysate falls slightly while it flows to the dialyzer, the difference with setting temperature arises after adjusting temperature. For this measure,
DM detects the temperature of dialysate before the dialyzer by the temperature correction sensor (232), ADC amplifies the analogue signal, and the value after digital
conversion is read from CPLD, the difference between measured value and temperature setting value is added for the correction to the control temperature as the
temperature correction value, so the heater control is performed.

Temperature control
The heater control performs the control by calculating heater-on time as a MV operation value for every cycles of 2.5 seconds.
MV operation value = P operation value + Differentiation value + offset value
Offset value: The average rate of ON with the cycles of 2.5 seconds P operation value: Goal temperature – Control temperature ÷ 2
Differentiation value: (Previous control temperature – control temperature)×2

Temperature correction
Temperature correction proceeds in a cycle of 1 minute.
When the temperature change for 5 minutes is settled within 1℃, a correction value is calculated and correction is added to the control temperature.
Correction value = setting temperature -display temperature
The value is rectified when the difference of setting temperature and a control correction sensor exceeds 0.2 [℃].

Alarm detection performed with DM (control side)

SSR is turned off by the detection of the abnormal temperature rise of the heater by the attached thermostat (206). → Detection temperature 120 [℃]
SSR is turned OFF by the comparing the output of the control correction sensor (232).→ Detection temperature 42 [℃]

【UF rate control monitor】

TR-8000"YUGA" makes closed circuit for all the dialysate courses including the dialyzer, dialysate sent to the dialyzer and returning are set to be the same volume.
The closed system of capacity control method performs UF by applying convection pressure with UF pump from the inside of this closed circuit system.
CM sends the mode information and set UF rate (L/hr) to DM.
DM performs speed control of UF pump (227) via motor driver according to the calculated correction value plus 0.5cc/rotation (3pulse) when the operation is possible by
the result from the mode information etc.
MM calculates UF volume by reading pulse from the disk slit attached on the rotating axis of UF pump using photo sensor.
CM displays total UF calculated by MM on LCD.

【UF pump rotation alarm monitoring】

MM monitors regularly two values, estimated rotation rate of UF pump based on the UF rate setting and substantial rate (photo sensor pulse), and it stops dialysis
course with the activation of the alarm when the deviation becomes greater than ±10 [%].

3-4. Chamber changeover

【Chamber changeover control】

TR-8000 "YUGA" performs UF control with the closed system of capacity control method.
This closed circuit system is constructed by two chambers with a silicone membrane; dialysate is always supplied to the dialyzer by changing them in turn.
Each chamber has the capacity of 505mL, and generally pours fresh dialysate to the dialyzer through the chamber membrane with the negative pressure pump (220) by
dialysate flow 500 [mL/min]. At this time, fresh dialysate in the closed circuit side chamber is changed to the used dialysate for 60 seconds, and stops the fluid flow.
Another chamber filled with fresh dialysate is changed by detecting chamber changeover flow switch (218) that status.
On the other hand, chamber filled with used dialysate receives supply of fresh dialysate as soon as discharging used dialysate with a flow pump (207).
Since this system operates by the flow rate approx. 750 [mL/min], fresh dialysate is filled in about 37 seconds, and the next change is prepared with this procedure.
These controls perform DM according to the mode information from CM.

【Blood pump speed rate control】

CM sends the information of blood pump ON/OFF operation to DM and MM, DM operates blood pump (137) via motor driver at the blood flow setting value and the
reading operation information.
The blood flow setting value is given as DC voltage (VS) to the motor driver, and controls speed rate of the motor.
In the concrete, blood pump rotation speed rate is computed from a flow rate setting value, the digital value (0~131071) proportional to the speed rate is changed into
an analogue value (DC 0~10 [V]) in DAC, and gives it to the motor driver.

Example: In order to control in 0~10 [V] for the rotation number of the motor at the time of flow volume 200 [mL/min] by tube L size setting of 200/8.70=23 [rpm] 0~
100 [rpm],It gives the voltage of 2.3 [V] as a speed rate setting signal (VS) in 23 [rpm].

Blood pump specifications The blood pump control ranges 0, 3 ~100 [rpm] (rotation number of the motor 0, 85~2500rpm * rated 1500rpm, Gear ratio 1/25)
Rotation speed rate calculation tube S size → 5.48 [mL/rotation] tube L size → 8.70 [mL/rotation]
Blood flow setting: Rotary encoder.

Reference setting of the blood pump/Setting of the flow rate correction reference

Reference setting
Blood pump reference mean value
Registration point Registration value
Low speed rate 50 [mL/min] 48
High speed rate 400 [mL/min] 375

DM gives the digital value proportional to the blood pump speed rate setting 0~600 [mL/min] to DAC.
DAC outputs VS (DC voltage) to the pump driver. In here, an error arises from the variation in DAC and peripheral circuit between the substantial numbers of
rotations. This variation is rectified by the reference setting function.
“Initial setting” → “Reference” → “Blood pump/Substitution pump” Set the reference setting function.
A reference rectifies (registration) two points, a low speed rate (50 [mL/min]) and high speed rate (400 [mL/min]).

Blood flow rate correction

The blood pump for blood flow correction is based on the outlet volume of the tube S size → 5.48 [mL/ 1 rotation], and tube L size → 8.70 [mL/1 rotation], However,
the speed rate correction of this outlet volume difference depends on the variation in a blood circuit is carried out by “Initial setting” → “Data setting” → “Blood pump
correction”.

MM displays a blood flow setting value on LCD.

【Monitoring of a pump rotation alarm and reversed rotation alarm】

Rotation alarm
MM monitors blood flow rate setting value and substantial blood pump rotation numbers (from the signal of the rotation detection sensor of blood pump rotor) by
comparing them. Alarm is activated when the substantial rotation numbers deviates remarkably against the setting value.
DM receives this signal, alarm recovery of a blood pump stop etc. is performed, and CM displays the alarm.
Reverse rotation alarm
MM reads the rotation signal detected by another Hole IC other the above-mentioned rotation signal through the I/O P.C.B.
The abnormalities in reverse rotation are monitored by the timing of these 2 rotation signals.

【Detection of pump cover open】

The opening and closing state of a blood pump cover is detected by the limit switch.
DM receives this signal, The pump stops at the cover open, and the procedure of the operation is carried out by RUN signal at the cover closed

【Air bubble alarm monitoring】

MM P.C.B. and AS air bubble P.C.B. perform control and monitoring of the air bubble detector, 2 piezo-electricity ceramic resonator by the side of an oscillation and
reception is built into the air bubble detector, and a blood circuit is set between them. The air bubble P.C.B. is equipped with the oscillation circuit and the ultrasonic
wave is applied to the wave transducer by the oscillation side. Although an ultrasonic wave gets across to a reception side wave transducer in the state where liquid is in
a tube, if air bubbles pass in a tube, air bubbles will attenuate an ultrasonic wave. This is detected as the change of a voltage value by the reception side circuit, and an
alarm is activated. MM reads the alarm output from AS P.C.B., and emits as an air bubble alarm. At the same time, it stops solution flow by the dialyzer side from bypass
valve control, and then circuit clamp interception and blood pump stop processing are also performed.

MM monitors rinse port connection via I/O by means of Hole IC, and rinse separation is generated when the rinse port connection failure is detected in the disinfection
mode. DM receives the connection/un-connected information from each rinse port, and performs each rinse port valve control via I/O.
At rinse port connection: Rinse port valve ON
At rinse port un-connection: Rinse port valve OFF

【Rinsing/Disinfection operation】
Rinse mode Disinfection mode
Rinse-1 Disinfection Rinse-2 Rinse-1 Acetic acid Dwell-1 Rinse-2 Disinfection Heat (OP) Hot water (OP) Dewll-2 Night dwell Pre-rinse

Each mode operation time of the rinse/disinfection by the initial setting is saved by CM. When rinse/disinfection switch is pressed, DM controls pumps and solenoid
valves etc. by the instructions from CM. MM monitors the connection of rinse ports and couplers, when they are not set on the system, the mode shift is not to be
accepted. Moreover, monitoring coupler connection, chamber alarm, water shortage2, and supply water alarm etc during the mode operation, the inadequate rinsing
alarm is activated when the abnormal state and alarm stop happened after acetic acid rinsing (or disinfection).

MM monitors the disinfectant existence state of the sodium hypochlorite infusing line through I/O by the disinfectant monitoring sensor (a piezo-electric ceramic
resonator, * refer to air-bubble detector).

Rinse/disinfection mode disinfectant infusing time : Sodium hypochlorite valve, Disinfectant release valve ON, sodium hypochlorite suction by the
concentrate infusion pump.
At this time, Disinfectant monitoring sensor monitors existence of the fluid.
Stand-by, Dialyze, Bypass mode : Except Disinfectant infusion mode, since the Disinfectant release valve turns off, No →COM serves as
air release, and a disinfectant falls into a tank.
Disinfectant monitoring sensor monitors there is no fluid.
