AN ORDER REORGANIZING THE BARANGAY PEACE AND ORDER COUNCIL (BPOC) OF

BARANGAY KAUNLARAN.

WHEREAS, Republic Act No. 7160 otherwise known as the Local Government Code and
DILG Memorandum Circular No. 2008-101 mandates the organization of Barangay Peace and
Order Council as the implementing arm of the City Peace and Order Council at the barangay
level.

WHEREAS, There is a need to enhance the effectiveness of the Peace and Order Council in
its crime prevention mission, through the expansion of its membership and the extension of
its infrastructure down to the barangay level.

NOW THEREFORE, by the power vested in me by law, I, CHRISTOPHER M. CHENG, Punong

Barangay of Barangay Kaunlaran , District IV, Quezon City do hereby orders the organization/
reorganization of Barangay Peace and Order Council of Barangay Kaunlaran.

Section. 1. COMPOSITION. The Barangay Peace and Order Council of

Barangay Kaunlaran, shall be composed of the following:

Section 2. The Barangay Peace and Order Council shall perform the following
functions:

 Initiate, coordinate and monitor the peace and order programs, projects and
activities at the barangay level;
 Serve as an information gathering mechanism;
 Monitor and check the nefarious activities of criminal elements;
 Supervised barangay tanods in identifying barangay constituents with strong
deviant behavior for referral to appropriate;
 Maintain continuing dialogue, close coordination and rapport with the City Peace
and Order Council, the City Management Coordinating Committee and the law
enforcement units operating in the barangay;
 Formulate plans and recommend such measures which will improve or enhance
peace and order and public safety in its area responsibility;
 Supervise , coordinate and monitor the operations of all community-based anti-
crime movements within the barangay;
 Undertake periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and order situation in the
barangay and submit reports with appropriate recommendations to the City
Peace and Order Council;
 Perform such other function that maybe assigned by higher level peace and order
councils.

Section 3. This Order shall take effect immediately.
