Barangay Peace and Order Council Creation

The Barangay Chairman of Ariosa, Zamboanga del Sur issued Executive Order No. 6 to create the Barangay Peace and Order Council (BPOC). OFFICE OF THE PUNONG BARANGAY

EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 6

“CREATION OF BARANGAY PEACE AND ORDER COUNCIL”

WHEREAS, Section 16 of Republic Act No. 7160 or the Local Government Code of 1991 states that
Local Government Units shall, within their territorial jurisdictions, promote health and safety,
improve public morals, maintain peace and order, and preserve the comfort and convenience of their
inhabitants.

WHEREAS, pursuant to Executive Order No. 366 dated September 5, 1996, every Barangay is
required to organize a Peace and Order Council (BPOC) to serve as the implementing arm of the
City/Municipal Peace and Order Council at the barangay level.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, GENARO B. SARSABA, Barangay Chairman of Ariosa, Municipality of


Molave, Zamboanga del Sur , by virtue of the power vested in me by law, do hereby order the
organization of the Barangay Peace and Order Council:

SECTION I. COMPOSITION - The BPOC shall be composed of the following:

HON. GENARO B. SARSABA - Barangay Captain/Chairman


HON. EXEQUIEL T. CAPADNGAN - BK/Committee on POC/ Vice Chair
HON. JASON C. EMBALSADO - SK Chairman/Member
MR. DIOSCORO F. CARILLO - Lupong Tagapamayapa
MR. ROLDAN ANTINERO - Barangay Tanod/Member
MRS. NEMA SEPULVIDA - Public School Teacher
MRS. DELIA C. MEDIJA - Representative of Interfaith
Group/Member
MRS. CONCORDIA J. TANIOLA - Senior Citizen
MR. ROLLY F. CARILLO - NGO Representative (Name of
NGO)
PCPL RAIAN PASCO - PNP Officer/Member

SECTION II. DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS – The BPOC shall have the following functions:

1. Monitor and coordinate the implementation of peace and order programs and projects at
the Barangay level;

2. Serve as an information-gathering mechanism;

3. Monitor and check the nefarious activities of criminal elements;


4. Identify barangay constituents with strong deviant behavior for referral to proper
authorities;

5. Formulate plans and recommend such measures which will improve and enhance peace
and order and public safety in their area of responsibility;

6. Maintain continuing dialogue, close coordination and rapport with the higher levels of
peace and order councils and law enforcement units;

7. Monitor, coordinate and supervise the operation of all community-based anti-crime


movements within the barangay;

8. Make periodic assessment of the prevailing peace and order situation in their respective
areas of responsibility and submit report with appropriate recommendations to the higher
level Peace and Order Council; and

9. Perform such other functions which may be assigned by higher level peace and order
councils.

SECTION 3. EFFECTIVITY - This Executive Order shall take effect immediately and will remain
in force unless otherwise superseded or amended by competent authority.
