Re-assessment of Result & Academic Appeal procedures:
If a student is not happy with his/ her results, that student may appeal against their
grade via a written letter, clearly stating the grounds of appeal to the Chief
Executive Officer. This should be submitted after completion of the subject and
within fourteen days of commencement of the new term.
Re-assessment Process:
An appeal in writing is made to the Academic Manager providing reasons
for re-assessment /appeal.
Academic Manager will delegate another faculty member to review the
assessment.
The student will be advised of the review result done by another assessor.
If the student is still not satisfied and further challenges the decision, then a
review panel is formed comprising the lecturer/trainer in charge and the
Academic Manager OR if need be an external assessor.
The Institute will advise the student within 14 days from the submission
date of the appeal. The decision of the panel will be deemed to be final.
If the student is still not satisfied with the result, the he / she has the right to
seek independent advice or follow external mediation option with nominated
mediation agency.
Any student who fails a compulsory subject or appeals unsuccessfully will
be required to re-enrol in that subject.
The cost of reassessment will be borne by the Institute. The external assessor will
base his/her judgement based on principles of assessment. These principles
require assessment to be reliable, fair, practical and valid.
Academic Appeals:
If you are dissatisfied with the outcome of the re-evaluation process, you
have a right to appeal through academic appeals handling protocol.
To appeal a decision, the person is required to complete the WSC- Request
for Appeal of a Decision form with all other supporting documents, if any.
This form is available via our website. The completed Request for Appeal
form is to be submitted to the Student Support Officer either in hard copy or
electronically via the following contact details:
Student Support Officer, Western Sydney College (WSC), 55 High St,
Parramatta NSW 2150, Email: info@wsc.nsw.edu.au
The notice of appeal should be in writing addressed to the Chief Executive
Officer and submitted within seven days of notification of the outcome of the
re-evaluation process.
If the appeal is not lodged in the specified time, the result will stand and you
must re-enrol in the unit.
In emergency circumstances, such as in cases of serious illness or injury,
you must forward a medical certificate in support of a deferred appeal. The
notice of appeal must be made within three working days of the concluding
date shown on the medical certificate.
The decision of Chief Executive Officer will be final.
Student would then have the right to pursue the claim through an
independent external body as detailed in the students’ complaint /
grievance policy.

Assessment Task 1: Knowledge Test
1.2. How can you ensure you have gathered compliant and
correct information for meeting the client requirements,
data analysis and stakeholders’ reporting purposes?
Answer in 100-150 words.
Answer 1.1: The process of defining what our projects must achieve and what must
be done to make it happen is known as requirements gathering. Gathering
requirements is easier said than done, and it is often given far less attention than it
deserves. Many projects begin with simple requirements lists, only to discover later
that many of the customers' needs were not adequately understood and
implemented.
Answer 1.2: To ensure the client requirements and for meeting the client that we
ensure we have gathered compliant and correct information. There are several ways
that can followed to perform this. By conducting information gathering workshops
and interviews to gather data. By reviewing reports and other data sources for
relevant business information. By confirming business critical factors relating to
current and future directions of the organization with stakeholders. By analyzing
group and individual responses to clearly define business priorities. By identifying
the problem or opportunity it should be documented. It can be included in report
listing the problem statement or opportunity statement. Where problem statement
uses the key word like cannot, will not and unable to and opportunity statements

may use the key words like would like to, force and grow toward.
Answer 3.1: The list of ten website requirements specifications are given below:
Teams: To identify all product and services related to this business we must
list the people for involvement in this project.
Content: Content helps to provide the information which can be used to
educate search engine about our website.
Design: It is the process which is used to set goals for the designer to make
sure their product is relevant for what it is designed for.
Functionality: Well-functioning website helps to build our business without
it may lead to negative impression.
Accessibility: It is used in developing websites which is designed in that
way which helps to perceive and understand to interact.
Deadlines: Deadlines will help everyone work more efficiently toward
the goal.
Budget: Include a budget breakdown for the project, possibly in terms of
phases or milestones.
Final report: Our project will run well, and our expectations will be realized

if we have a thorough, well-prepared website requirements document.
Communicate effectively: In order, to communicate effectively, the user
interface must balance legibility, readability, typography, symbolism,
various viewpoints, and color or texture.
Answer 3.2: The process that can used to identify the products that should be
addressed for the client requirements by reviewing and prioritizing the
requirements. For example, by integrating the events and business rules and
checking the performance it can be addressed.
Answer 4.1: Internal stakeholders are those who have a direct link with a business,
such as employment, ownership, or investment. Internal stakeholders frequently
have a financial stake in the company. Shareholders, the board of directors, and
investors are among them. Because of their financial investment, these stakeholders
are considered to have a vested interest in the company's success. As a result, they
typically wield more power than external stakeholders. New acquisitions,
liquidations, important job hiring, and monitoring and budget issues such as
dispersed earnings are typically voted on by the board of directors. Voting rights
based on the number of shares owned or the percentage of the firm owned are one
of the most important responsibilities played by internal stakeholders.
External stakeholders are those who aren't employed by a business but are impacted
by its decisions and outcomes in some way. Suppliers, governments, customers,
trade unions, and creditors are examples of external stakeholders. External
stakeholders' duties frequently reflect community, government, or environmental
concerns. External stakeholders play a critical part in any business operations.
External stakeholders such as customers and government rules help promote a
secure and fair market by monitoring business actions, purchasing items or services,
and setting basic expectations. Customers are the most crucial external stakeholders
to consider. These are the folks who will consume the company's final products or
employ its services. They thus determine whether a business succeeds or fails,
despite not being involved in its day-to-day operations.
