1. General switch. This switch starts up all the incubator´s circuits when turned to position I.
2. Safety thermostat. A class 3.1 hydraulic thermostat (assumes the function of
temperature regulator in the event the main regulator fails).
3. Thermostat control immobilisation device. Turning it clockwise immobilises the
thermostat button to prevent unintentional movement. Turning it in the opposite direction
unlocks the thermostat button, enabling you to turn the button freely.
4. Safety thermostat pilot light. Lights up when the safety thermostat is in operation.
5. Microprocessor temperature and time controller (see the specific instructions on how to
use it).

INSTALLATION
Place the incubator on a solid and stable surface.
Do not install the incubator in rooms or special protection areas in which there is a risk of fire
or explosion.
The incubator is not flameproof, and is not therefore suitable for drying, evaporating, baking
enamel or similar substances that contain solvents and could ignite or produce an explosive
atmosphere mixed with air.
To guarantee maximum performance from the incubator, do not install it near a source of
heat or directly exposed to the sun.

ID-480/720 models:

Once the incubator is in place, lock the front wheels by lowering the pedal to prevent it from
moving.

Unlocked wheel Locked wheel

CONNECTION TO THE POWER MAINS

The nameplate located on the rear of the incubator indicates the operating voltage and
power. Ensure your electrical installation is consistent with these parameters.
The incubator´s connection plug is of the standard SCHUKO type for lateral or central
grounding, and the equipment must have an earth connection to guarantee your safety.

MESSAGES AND COMMAND ERRORS

MESSAGE MEANING

The equipment fails to heat up. Poor resistance or the

NOT HEATING
thermostat has blown.

OUT OF RANGE The temperature has exceeded the maximum tolerance of the
HIGH equipment.

OUT OF RANGE The temperature has fallen below the minimum of the
LOW equipment.

NO SENSOR The sensor is not connected or the sensor is in poor condition.

Sudden uncontrolled rise of the probe reading due to a

OVERHEATING
malfunction of the control or temperature sensor.

18 / 28
R. Espinar S.L. IDi/08

START-UP
Connect the equipment to the power mains.
Press the main switch (1) and it will light up. After a few seconds the display will show the
controller logo followed by the Main Screen.
Press the “START / STOP” key twice to start the equipment up. The key will flash on the first
press and the cycle will start on the second.
The graph representing the progress of the cycle will begin to take shape in the graphics
area (Grid).
Once the programmed temperature has been reached, the programme indicator box will
change from blue to green and the resistance icon will display on and off cycles, maintaining
the programmed temperature.
If a start-up time has been programmed, the device will remain on standby until the
programme is executed with the scheduled date and time in the top left corner of the Main
Screen.
If ramps have been programmed, the designated temperature for each of them will last for
the programmed time until the next ramp starts and will end when the last one is executed.
In order to stop the regulation manually, proceed in the same way for start-up: press the
“START / STOP” key twice. The key will flash on the first press and the cycle will stop on the
second and the device will emit an acoustic signal.
The device will stop automatically if an end time has been programmed.
When executing a cycle with an indefinite time (MINUTES = 0), the equipment will end when
the “START/STOP” key is pressed twice or in accordance with the set time indicated in the
top right corner of the Main Screen.
Note: In the event of a power outage, the equipment will restart the ongoing process
from the beginning.

STOPPING THE EQUIPMENT

To stop the equipment completely, turn the main switch (1) to the 0 position.

SAFETY THERMOSTAT
Adjusting the safety thermostat trigger temperature:
1 - Set the safety thermostat control to around 10 ºC higher than the operating temperature.
2 – Close the door and turn the incubator on using the general switch.
3 - Once the defined pre-established temperature is stable, turn the safety thermostat control
slowly in an anti-clockwise direction until you hear a beep and the red pilot light comes on.

19 / 28
R. Espinar S.L. IDi/08

Then turn the button in a clockwise direction until the red pilot light goes off. In this manner,
the temperature defined using the safety thermostat will be around 1 or 2 ºC higher than the
operating temperature.
This operation will need to be conducted every time different temperatures are used.

Note: It should be pointed out that the thermostat will need to be set to the highest
operating temperature when working with several ramps

LOAD DISTRIBUTION
Air must be allowed to circulate freely inside the incubator to ensure the equipment functions
correctly and a uniform temperature distribution.
Hence, the load must be placed in the incubator in a manner that provides spaces through
which air can circulate freely.
Do not place the load directly on the floor of the inner drawer, but above the first tray at least.
.
Do not place the load close to the walls or ceiling of the incubator, and leave a minimum
space of 3 cm between the walls and the load.

Recommendation for ID-480/720 models:

The surface of the tray should only be loaded up to 70%.

In relation to height, the space between a tray and the tray immediately above it, or to the
ceiling of the incubator, should only be loaded to 50%.

SERVICE AND MAINTENANCE

CLEANING
Disconnect the incubator from the power mains before conducting any
cleaning operations
Cleaning the incubator on a regular basis will keep the equipment in perfect working order.
Residue should not be allowed to accrue in the incubator, as it could damage the equipment
and cause it to malfunction.
The inner drawer and rear cover can be cleaned with any commercial product for cleaning
stainless steel, or with alcohol.
The outer housing can be cleaned with a silicone-based liquid polish, alcohol or a
damp cloth.

20 / 28
R. Espinar S.L. IDi/08

Some products, in addition to the vapours they give off, can cause corrosive stains inside the
incubator. If this occurs, area in question should be cleaned and polished immediately.

repairs on the equipment.
In the event of a breakdown, we recommend you contact your usual dealer first.
Only original spare parts should be used as a means of guaranteeing your safety and
the smooth performance of the device.
When ordering spare parts you will need to provide the device´s serial number and
model, which are specified on the nameplate.
