Essentiality

Isotopes elements are essential in our life. Isotopes are a name of a

different version of a nucleus. In the elements that Isotopes have, I choose five that can
help and what it impacts of its contribution in society. The five elements are calcium,
zinc, carbon, oxygen, and nitrogen.
Calcium helps in the society by its health benefits. According to
medicalnewstoday.com, Calcium is essential for building and maintaining healthy bones
and teeth. There are many things that calcium does in our society and especially for
ourselves. Because by eating foods that have more calcium it may help manage blood
pressure. Calcium is used as an alloying agent in the production of some metals. Calcium
carbonate is also used to make cement, mortar, added to toothpaste and mineral
supplements.
Zinc helps the society in both industrial and medical applications. In
industrial it helps with the galvanizing process which prevents the rusting of steel and
iron. Zinc has many forms, including zinc compounds and zinc alloy. Brass and batteries
are examples of what we use everyday that made of zinc. Zinc can be found in the cell
throughout the body. It also needed for our body’s immune system to properly work. In
medical it helps with common cold or lung infections, malaria, or asthma.
Carbon helps the society by carbon dating. Carbon dating is one of the
most important roles of carbon in the society because it is what we use in measuring the
age of things. Carbon also makes up 18% of the human body. And carbon is the second
most abundant elements in our bodies. First is the oxygen and we knows how important
oxygen is in our everyday life. Oxygen plays a critical role in the human body because
without it we will never be breathing today. Nothing bets, how important oxygen to us.
The last element is nitrogen. Nitrogen is essential to the chemical industry.
This element is used to make fertilizers, nitric acid, nylon, dyes and explosives. It is also
the one who provides an unreactive atmosphere. It is also used in a way to preserve
food and the electronic industry.
All elements are important. Each has its own unique characteristics that
help us keep moving in our everyday life. All elements have a big part in everyday life so
it is important to know them.
A Big Help

Isotopes are present in everyday life

That stays with us and fight
In this world that needs more improvement
Yet it never stops working and still supporting

With its elements that are all important

And all elements that constant
Carbon’s determines the age

Oxygen use in paleoclimate research

And other things that need the elements
In order to live a life with moments
Modernity of today, Isotopes is a big help
What is the importance of isotopes in our daily life?
Radioactive isotopes have many useful applications. In medicine, for example, cobalt-60 is
extensively employed as a radiation source to arrest the development of cancer. Other radioactive
isotopes are used as tracers for diagnostic purposes as well as in research on metabolic
processes.

Radioactive isotopes differ in the stability of their nuclei. Measuring the speed of decay allows
scientists to date archaeological finds, and even the universe itself. Stable isotopes can be used to
give a record of climate change. Isotopes are also commonly used in medical imaging and cancer
treatment.

Why are isotopes important to life?

Isotopes of an element all have the same chemical behavior, but the unstable isotopes undergo
spontaneous decay during which they emit radiation and achieve a stable state. This property of
radioisotopes is useful in food preservation, archaeological dating of artifacts and medical diagnosis and
treatment.

What is so special about isotopes?

Isotopes of an element share the same number of protons but have different numbers of
neutrons. ... Chemically, all three are indistinguishable, because the number of electrons in each of
these three isotopes is the same. So different isotopes of the same element are identical, chemically
speaking.
