Qaaf: “He [i.e., man] utters no word except that with him is
an observer prepared [to record].”
According to Hasan Basri [Ra] and Qataadh
[Ra] the observer mentioned in the verse is an
angel, who keeps the record of every word
uttered by the person. According to Abdullah
ibn Abbas [RA] the angel only keeps the
record of the words having reward or

Serving the Guests
1.Always welcome and well treat the guest.
2.Duration of being guest is for three days.
So a Muslim should serve his guest in best
possible way. This serving will be
considered as gift.
3.After three days it depends on the host
how to serve his guest. Serving after three
days will be considered as charity/Sadqaah.
Narrated Abu Shuraih Al-Ka`bi: Allah's
Apostle said, whoever believes in
Allah and the Last Day, should serve
his guest generously. The guest's
reward is: To provide him with a
superior type of food for a night and a
day and a guest is to be entertained
with food for three days, and
whatever is offered beyond that, is
regarded as something given in
charity. And it is not lawful for a guest
to stay with his host for such a long
period so as to put him in a critical
position.[ Bukhari Hadith # 6135]
4.If a Muslim wants to invite someone as
guest then he must invite pious and good
people as his guest. In a hadith the Prophet
[S] advised his followers that he should try
to adopt the company of honest people
and he should offer his meal to pious
people.

5.When ever a Muslim arranges meal on
larger scale he should also invite the poor
and needy people of his surroundings.
6.While arranging the feast for the people a
Muslim must make his intention to follow
the Sunnah of Prophets and to get the
plessure of Almighty Allah instead of
showing pride/his status or getting fame.
