2. For each building element created in Revit, provide a “Construction ID”

This is Level – 1 – Wall 1

3. After finishing creating the BIM model in Revit, export it to Navisworks format.

Add-Ins  External Tools  Navisworks 2013

Microsoft Project 2010
4. In MS Project, build the schedule

Need to insert a column called “Construction ID”, and a column called “Task Type”.

- Construction ID: for linking the schedule with BIM objects

- Task Type: to indicate if the building element is “construct” or “demolish” (See
NavisworksTimelinerConfigure)
- Take note that in this example, field “Task Type” = “text1” in MS Project data table;
“Construction ID” = “text2”. “text1” and “text2”etc are the internal data field MS Project reserves
for the users to define their own names

Navisworks
5. In Navisworks, import the the BIM model created and exported from Revit

6. In Timeliner, set up schedule fields

Check “Active”, “Name”, “Planned Start”, “Planned End”, “Task Type”. Then check “User 1” and later
rename “User 1” to “Construction ID” in TimelinerTasks right click field “User 1”.

7. Import MS Project schedule

Timeliner Data source  Add  Microsoft Project 2007-2010

8. Right click “New data source”  “Rebuild Task hierarchy”

9. Timeliner  Task  “Auto-attach using Rules”. Create a new rule called “Construction ID”.
