Scholarships for international BSc and
MSc students
General
International students with permit B must also apply for a
scholarship in their home country and proof their efforts.
ETH scholarships are granted as secondary source of
finance and do not cover the whole living and studying
costs. They are eligible up to the end of the regular du-
ration of studies set out in the respective programme
regulations, plus two semesters (in relation to the entire
duration of studies).
Eligibility
 Non-Swiss BSc students after having passed the
first-year exams (all parts).
 Non-Swiss MSc students without an ETH-BSc de-
gree after successful completion (min 40 KP) of
the preceding master study year.
COVID-19
Non-participation on examination(s) due to Covid-19
must be proofed to us either with a medical certification,
issued not older than one day after the planned exam.
Or with the notice of a quarantine.
Application period
From 1 September 2021 until 30 June 2022 for the
ac-ademic year 2021/22.

Documents needed
 Parents’ definitive tax return from 2020, indicating taxa-
ble income, assets, allowed deductions, computed tax
 Other scholarship decisions (country of origin, founda-
tions) for 2021/22
 Loan decisions 2021/22
 Form “Evidence of assets”, completed and signed by
parents
 Internship contract (if any)
 Decree of orphan’s pension/old age pension/alimonies
(if any)
 Evidence of transport costs (if domicile is not in the
City of Zurich)
Upload all documents in pdf-format and provide a trans-
lation into English or German. We accept your own
translation on the document.
Re-calculate all amounts to Swiss Francs.
Own situation
You are asked to describe your financial and personal situ-
ation and how you financed the last (resp. first) year of your
studies. This decreases inquiries from our side.
Specific questions and problems may be reviewed during
our office hours (Mon / Fri 11-13h) or by appointment.
Study achievements/records
In addition to the financial statements the performance of
your studies will be included in the application process.

 Bachelor: passed the base examination (all parts).

 Minimum of 120 credits after 4 semesters (incl. first
year exam).
 Master: minimum 40 credits in preceding master
study year
 Master: average: 20 KP/semester

Decision
Applications are processed in the order of submission.

Complete documents must be submitted until 30 June

2022.

The decision is publicated for download in eStip.

ETH scholarships are paid in one or two instalments

within the academic year of the application.
