…they left their base in relatively good weather. They easily reached the summit.
Suddenly, heavy snow began to fall, making it extremely difficult to see where they
could safely put their hands and feet on the rock.
…luckily, they found a narrow ledge and desperately climbed onto it.
However, the snow didn’t stop and the temperature dangerously dropped to 14°F

6 – Several years ago, in summer vacation, my parents, my aunt and me decided to go

to the beach, at Riviera de São Lourenço.
We stayed there for some days, and the weather was somewhat good during these
days. However, things took a turn on the last days. We were relaxing at the beach, the
sky was cloudy, but nothing else. Then suddenly, some strong winds started blowing,
followed by the clouds turning dark quickly.
We just thought it was just a normal rain, but, as it turned out, it was a storm. People
desperately started packing up and running back to the hotels and kiosks. We urgently
tried to get to safety, but the wind was so strong it was carrying beach umbrella in the
air. I had to hold ours down firmly in order for my family to pick things up and no one
get hurt. There was also lightning bolts intensely cracking in the sky.
Fortunately, most of the people at the beach and us were able to go back to the hotel.
The power went out and part of the city was sheltering up to face the storm. While
there, we saw from the windows that thatch roofs were being ripped apart violently
because of the wind and waves were increasingly getting bigger and reaching out in
the streets.
After some hours, the storm passed and everything was back to normal. I don’t know
what could’ve happened if we had been stuck there during the rain.
